Summary: I have had this laptop for 3 years and it has played every game flawlessly from when I purchased it till now. it is showing some age, but if you can pick it up cheaply it would be perfect. Pros Very fast, good build quality, and didn't have any bloatware such as Dell and HP has. This laptop is also built very robustly, as it has been dropped several times and still does not have any broken pieces. Cons Fans are loud and the computer does get hot quickly.
Summary: I'm giving this laptop a 2 for a couple reasons: 1. Everything is fine, the tech is beautiful and I would recommend it, but the DC jack really ruins the whole experience I had with this thing. The DC jack smoldered onto the motherboard, so replacing it is almost near impossible since you would have to buy a NEW motherboard just to compensate for the DC Jack. This is ridiculous that I would have to pay $1000+ and have it fail due to one minor problem that can't be fixed.
Summary: PLEASE DON'T BUY THIS The pin inside the laptop that connects to the power cable is faulty and keeps coming loose inside the power cable. I have had this happen to me 5 times now, the first 4 times it was still within the first year and so they repaired it for free but the 5th I had to call and complain for a few hours before they agreed to fix it again.
An incredible laptop . . . until it and ASUS customer service fail

Summary: I purchased this laptop late in 2010. For a solid month I gamed. I gamed hard. I was getting behind in every aspect of what I've heard called a "well-balanced life." Then the charging port broke in the same fashion indicated by so many other reviewers. I'm not computer-literate, so that's the best description you'll get from me. I was able to transfer my important data to an external hard drive before the battery died.
Summary: This machine was wonderful ... runs graphics-intensive games, had minimal bloatware installed, and is very quiet ... then hardware issues started at about month 8. 1) As many buyers have experienced, the power jack pin broke off. I had the dc port replaced and it worked for about 3 weeks. 2) The soldering on the dc port broke, shorted out, and even melted the plastic from the power adapter connector.
Summary: Pros: This laptop performs at a level that will exceed the requirements of most users. Games run at high settings with little trouble. The full 1080p screen is vibrant, and leaves little to be desired. Plenty of processor power. Ton of Ram Minimal useless bloatware Cons: In the 3 months since purchasing this computer, I have had several issues with it. First, it gets hot, those vents on the back aren't just for show, they move some air.
Summary: I spent a long time researching this computer. Pretty much the only reservation that I had with it was that a lot of people said that they had hardware problems. It seemed to have great reviews otherwise though, so I bought it. From day 1, the computer froze on me - all the time. It was freezing almost hourly. I tried to talk to ASUS and they gave me all these different fixes, which didn't work.
Summary: It's a great laptop, but i'm very disappointed because there was a rebate promotion running when i purchased the laptop in April.......it's not October and I never received it......I'm waiting a reply back from the company, but i know what they will tell me....lost in the mail, not our problem....
Summary: I ordered my Asus laptop and received it in 5 days out of the 7 free days allotted for free shipping. So I was pleased with the speed of delivery. The package contained the laptop, the battery, charger and the utility and driver cd. I dislike small laptops so the 15.6 inch size is just perfect for me. Movies look amazing on its HD screen. The chiclet keyboard layout is superb and the keypads are very responsive.
