ASUS G50V Review

LAPTOP Magazine
19 September 2008
  • Summary: Although the ASUS G50V's scores are very good for a 15.4-inch notebook, customers should think seriously about the Gateway P-7811FX, which has better raw performance scores and costs $300 less while delivering a larger display.

Asus G50v

PriceRunner
17 June 2009
  • Excerpt: The Asus G50v may well be the best gaming laptop on the market, but can it really match the competition when it comes to the other functions? Read on…
  • Pros: For gaming on the go there is simply no better laptop at the moment than the G50v. This 3.3kg laptop packs in a NVIDIA Geforce 9700M GT card – the best single-card solution there is. All round performance is stunning, courtesy of the Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 and 4GB of RAM.
  • Cons: The keyboard is a good size, but you’ll find the keys tend to rattle and feel loose as you type. There’s a Blu-ray drive built in, but the screen only has a 1366×768-pixel resolution, so it’s not Full HD.

Asus G50V review

PC Advisor
11 February 2009
  • Summary: The notebook comes with a backpack and two years warranty. Overall, we liked what we saw of the Asus G50V, and gaming is its only mantra. But, gaming laptops are a rare breed. They cater to a niche that likes to indulge and doesn't mind splurging more on extra performance, given a laptop's form...

Asus G50v notebook

Pocket Lint

  • Conclusion: The Asus G50v is a great gaming notebook. The build quality and performance are amazing for such a compact machine. It's also great value for the price. If there is any problem with this machine it's the lack of Full HD support, which would have easily made this a Hot Product.
  • Pros: Great look, fast, reasonable price
  • Cons: Not Full HD screen, average battery life
