Summary: Regrettably, this laptop has not lasted one year. It was purchased in January, 2013 and it crashed in October, 2013. It was purchased to be used by my daughter at college and it has let her down near semester end and finals. I thought...surely we have a warranty, right? Well, the 'fine print' is that if you did not register for warranty service within 60 days of purchasing the laptop then you're ineligible to file a claim.
Summary: I love Asus. I have Asus Eee Shell (a small laptop) and an Asus Transformer tablet. I love this particular Asus. However, I can't emphasize enough how bad Windows 8 it. I should have gotten it with Win 7.
Summary: Purchased this on sale for family use. The machine is good enough for the price for general use but really miss not having a backlit keyboard. Everyone HATES Windows 8 so it is slowly being used more and more but we may wind up reloading the operating system.
Summary: I understand that once in a while a person receives a lemon and it was my turn. You should thank me because it could have been you. The first three weeks should have been a clue that there was trouble lurking in this machine. At times I could not turn it on the next day. I would take the battery out, wait a little and then put it back in. Then I could turn it on. Battery showed that it was charged so some other power issue.
Summary: I thought, hmmm, let's get a Windows 8 hun?!!! BAD MOVE!!! So many glitches in it! I don't know if it's just this one or all Windows 8??? A computer friend of mine said to wait at least a year and a half before buying new upgraded windows due to so many glitches....
Unit underpowerted and poorly planned, Windows 8 the worst.

Summary: Unit came on time. It was a price purchase just as my Compaq 15.6 died. Keyboard is a nice size and works well, with just a bit of a bounce. Screen is nice and bright with a decent lateral and horizontal view. Problems right off the bat with explorer, froze and would not recover, the installed RAM is too little for that browser. Installed both chrome and FF and both worked well for a time or two. Than they also froze. Machine shut down and could not repair itself.
Summary: There isn't a lot I like about this laptop. Cost was probably the only thing I do like. When you open an app it takes about 45 seconds to open. The layout of the keyboard is off so it takes a while to get used to. Battery does not last as long as advertised. Too many other things to list. Trying to sell it and get something different.
Summary: I purchased this laptop as a cheap light duty travel computer. It is just that. The price was right Amazon delivered in a timely manner. Window 8 is the worst I've ever worked with and will replace it with and older operating system. The processor is a little slow but will meet my requirements for word processing and email.
