Summary: I bought two of these for my kids, and they work fine. The warnings are about your expectations, not the product: It is not a high-end, powerful laptop (my son could not run Minecraft on it), so consider beefing up the memory at least to get better utility out of it. The other warning is that Microsoft Windows 8 is a shameful and pathetic piece of garbage (how do you have $75 billion in the bank in cash, and come up with this? Really!
Summary: When buying a computer, it's essential to consider what you expect it to do, and choose one that will meet your requirements. Two key specifications are the processor speed and the memory (RAM), as these are the keys to computer speed and overall performance. This ASUS laptop is budget-priced, low-performance device. Note that the processor is only 1.8 gHz, and memory only 2 mb.
Summary: don't like this at all. The mouse touch pad is really large and very sensitive... it is always clicking things on the screen that I do not want just because the palm of my hand ever so slightly grazes it. Very frustrating, because it always happens mid-sentence when I am typing. I had to attach an full size, separate, keyboard just so this wouldn't keep happening because it's frustrating.
