Summary: I bought this after my old reliable hp laptop finally gave out on me. My issues with this computer are plentiful. While being appealing to the eyes and lightweight, the cons have HEAVILY outweighed any pros for me. My biggest problem is that none of my function keys work. No changing the volume or brightness with the keys up top.. they don't work!!! Also I cannot be on the internet for more than 30 minutes at a time without it saying there's no connection.
Summary: DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP!!! I bought this laptop for my daughter as a Christmas present. Out of the box she noticed that the battery pack was loose and had a hard time staying in place. After a month of owning the laptop, she informed me that it got worse and it would never stay in place. On top of that, the software itself started to malfunction to the point that it would not even let her log in.
Cons: Battery pack won't stay in, Constant crashes, Malfunctioning software
Summary: I thought this could be a good no frill computer for a teenager but it has proved unreliable. I've owned many, many laptops and never had one this bad or had the company service (ASUS) be that bad. We've had this for 9 months and had the hard drive replaced twice. The first time it kept bring up the BIOS screen asking if I wanted to start in safe mode. Any answer to that just brought up the same screen. I tried calling ASUS support.
Pros: Though was good entry point for adolescent's laptop
Cons: Hard drive keeps dying. Phone & online service worst ever seen.
Summary: I just bought it for 3 days, and stuck in sleeping mode now. I am an experience pc-laptop user, but have a terrible experience when using windows 8. I think the windows 8 is just design for kids to play game and not for working. The laptop is physical looking good. It looks like the macbook air, very light and beautiful. Stuck in sleeping mode right now and still try to find it it is caused by windows 8 or by Asus hardware.
