An All Around Amazing Companion And Tinker Device

Angelus, Amazon
7 April 2014
  • Summary: I originally got one of these when I was in high school. Right when they were coming out. I went into to Best Buy and was looking to get a PDA of some sort as that was how I took notes in class, and as I passed by the laptop section I see these magical things that are somehow laptops, but could fit anywhere. My grandmother had some Sony thing back in 2002 that was more or less a Netbook. But it was over two grand when we got that for her.

misleading description

Fredi Helton, Amazon
13 March 2014
  • Summary: The buyer's description of this computer indicated it was ready to use...........and it was, if all you wanted to do was turn it on. The computer had so many software programs downloaded (games, Skype, video drivers) that it made it impossible to even connect to the internet wirelessly or through a data line or to add any type of anti-software virus.

EeePC Cons and Pros

Dave Hein, Amazon
6 June 2009
  • Summary: First, the unit offered here is Italian spec, and the Amazon site doesn't point that out. Documentation is Italian; but the English manual is readily googled, found, and downloaded. Keyboard has Euro markings; but the software interprets it as if it were American. If this bugs you, there are lots of inexpensive replacement keyboards available; and installation looks pretty easy.

It's a good little notebook

Kitty Belle, Amazon
6 June 2009
  • Summary: It's a good little notebook. It'll get the job done. However, it's near impossible to install anything due to the operating system and such. It can get frustrating because of that. No Skype or MSN. However, I will say that it is a GREAT computer for younger kids (10th grade and below).

Great Buy But Not For Big Fingers

Frank, PhotoAlley.com
23 May 2009
  • Summary: The little lap top notebook is fantastic. I honestly have no clue how long the battery will last but it plugs in and the battery charges in a short period of time. Screen resolution is excellent. You must expect that the screen is not a LARGE screen so if you have vision problems you will have problems reading the screen. The computer is FAST to load everything and it comes with all you need for a "notebook".
  • Pros: Adequate Storage, Compact, Fast, Lightweight

good to have it as secondary laptop

Venkat Pabbati, PhotoAlley.com
17 April 2009
  • Summary: PROS: Consumes less energy. Can be used dedicate for Magic Jack/Skype phone. We can disconnect [...] regular phone service and it can earn its own money. Speakers are reasonably good. Webcam, bluetooth are good. Battery gives around 6 hours usage. OVERALL, I AM SATISFIED TO BUY THE MACHINE.CONS:Would have been nice ASUS offers 16/20 GB for XP laptops as well like they offer it on Linux machines, so that it can be used for development. S-Video output is missing.
  • Pros: Compact, Good Battery Life, Lightweight
  • Cons: Lacks External Ports

I love mine, do your research first

Maui Trailblazer, PhotoAlley.com
6 April 2009
  • Summary: This netbook is the smallest 9incher I've seen. This means the keyboard is also the smallest I've seen. This is precisely what I wanted, but be aware that the layout takes getting used to. Also, the touchpad settings were not adjustable by default. I had to install the config application manually. This was disappointing. Otherwise, I love this computer. It is incredibly portable--light and small.
