Summary: This is without a doubt my favorite of the ultra-portables. It's robust in construction, the Atom CPU has good horsepower and speed, it uses off-the-shelf 2.5" SATA hard drive and DDR2 RAM, both of which are trapdoor-access upgradable and standard SD-RAM cards for data exchange. The battery (mine is presently 4 years old) still lasts for several hours of enthusiastic use, and the charger is smart enough to power down when the battery is done charging. Flaws? Just one.
Summary: Great little machine. Has a large enough SSD to run windows on. Storage can be used in the internal SD card reader/writer and still has 3 usb ports for other items. Small enough to carry around and has a durable Solid State Drive for fast access.
The EEE 900a - computer/internet radio for under $160 shipped!

Excerpt: If you can do without a built-in camera and bluetooth - there's no better buy than the Asus EEE PC 900a. It has a 9 inch screen with 1024 by 600 resolution, unlike the smaller screened Asus PCs and has two options to display in 1024 by 768. With 1 gb memory, it will run XP just fine, but you will need to upgrade the solid state drive to a faster one for as little as $60 (January 2010 price) from Super Talent or Runcore.
Asus Eee pc 900hd is a wonderful little netbook!!!

Excerpt: My boyfriend got me this netbook for mother's day and I am very impressed!!! It allows me to go online while watching tv or sitting in bed without all the heaviness of a laptop but still all the conveniences with an Intel processor and 1 gb ram and an 160 gb hd it's fast enough to zip through sites. No its not perfect but its very efficient for web browsing or downloading music. I would definitely recommend this netbook to anyone.
Excerpt: This netbook is great for the money. It is small and very portable. The battery life is pretty good, you can get a good 3 hours. Only problem is the keyboard and screen are pretty small so if you have big fingers or bad eyesight this may not be for you. It comes installed with windows xp home edition, but you can install other operating systems such as linux. The picture quality on the screen is very good.
Excerpt: This Asus EEE PC netbook is both small and light. Great for business travel or any kind of travel. You can do the most basic tasks and can actually install Windows XP on the machine. However, you will need to buy an external hard drive or CD/DVD. But it's worth it. It has the very reasonable price without breaking your wallet. This little thing is the best I've ever had, especially since I am a student, working full time.

Summary: Fun little netbook. In the stock configuration, choose the UNIX version over the XP home version. While its long in the tooth for today's computing requirements, it's tiny, sleek and if configured properly it can rock. I've owned a half a dozen and have enjoyed "tricking em out". Most optimal configuration must have upgraded RAM (2Gb) and replace stock Asus SSD with newer _much_ faster SATA based SSD.
Summary: Love this little tank. I say that because I've dropped it a few times. Bought it for the wife 2 yrs ago and I ended up taking it over. Works great for on the go needs. Great for music and pics. Not powerful but if you just need something portable and for simple usage, this is great. I just started having problems with the cord but that only because I keep folding/unfolding the cord when I travel. Even after 2yrs the battery life is still great.
Summary: My 13 yr old son saved up for this netbook....I let him purchase after comparing/researching others. He loves it. Easy install and has had no problems. He now stays OFF my computer which is great. He can do just about anything he could on a regular laptop. I wanted him to have a netbook with windows, so this worked out great. My older son had just bought an HP laptop for close to $900.00, he was a little jealous on the savings.
