Summary: I purchased this laptop from csrdoc on October 2010, with full expectation. However, this laptop started to fall apart after 3 days. I cannot turn it on, so I have to hard reset it several times until it could fully reboot and the windows logo to appear. The screen sometimes froze with all weird lines appeared on the screen. Finally, the mouse sometimes just stopped working out of blue.
Summary: I know I get what I pay for, but I didn't expect this netbook to be basically disposable. I had problems with the touchpad and click keys not responding within the first couple months. I sent it in for repair and got it back without anything seemingly having been done to it. After a few more months, add to this that the computer would intermittently behave as though the shift key was stuck (I think you can't realize how many problems this creates unless you try it- very...
Summary: I am very disappointed in this product, which I had loved when I first owned it. Now, however, the wireless card stopped working after 14 months and attempts to repair this are not working. I bought a Netgear replacement wireless and, after 4 phone calls and lots of machination, it worked---for 4 hours. Then it stopped and nobody knows why. I got my money back on the Netgear but certainly wish I could do the same for this worthless Netbook.
Summary: Mine came with a battery that does not charge, so I had to purchase another one for $70,oo Space bar does not work if you do not press it just in the center. Other than that, I think this is a good product when not defective. Mine was a refurbished unit. (NO INTERNATIONAL WARRANTY!!!
Summary: While I have no issue with the quality of this bag, it is USELESS to hold the ASUS Eee PC 900HA Computer it is advertised to hold! The center area is so much larger than the Netbook, and there is NO padding or strap-downs inside, so it slides about. I bought this bag to "protect it" from any possible damage while traveling. I could just as easily throw the machine into any nylon tote bag and it would be exactly the same protection: almost non-existent.
Makes a good smoke detector, truly clueless customer service
Michael from Montreal, Amazon
29 June 2009
Summary: I Didn't buy from Amazon but from Bureau en Gros (Staples) in Montreal less than 6 months ago, but this is what happened: speakers started to malfunction. Called customer support, after 20 minute wait they suggest upgrading the audio driver which I did. Reboot PC, it now squeals like a smoke detector. Called back, another 15-20 minute wait, rep says to return laptop, AT MY EXPENSE, for repairs and, while talking to rep, phone line goes down.
Summary: The one star is mainly because the screen was flawed. Along much of the left side the screen was black in a very random way - covering up anything on the screen that should have been visible. I spent only 10 minutes using it, only long enough to get WINXP going so i could be sure the flaw stayed beyond the boot up screen (it did). But in those 10 minutes I learned a netbook is not for me.
Summary: Starts off as a rather cool machine. I searched and compared all of the mini laptops out there and I voted this as the best. The solid state drive ones are still to pathetic storage-wise to be any good in my opinion, and the newer models are simply too large. If you want a laptop bigger than this, then just get a normal laptop. It will likely cost the same and give you better performance. In all, the specs on this thing are rather decent.
