Interesting super netbook with a quality control problem

Jan Bottorff, Amazon
11 December 2011
  • Summary: I purchased one of these (in red, for just over a third of a kilobuck). I almost instantly had the reported trackpad issues and was preparing to do an RMA to get it fixed. After some serious Google searching, I decided to try to fix it myself, with total success.

Did not live up to 'Best Thing Since Sliced Bread' title, but it wasn't terrible

Nick, Amazon
7 June 2011
  • Summary: I bought this because on paper it looked like the best sub-$500 netbook with both performance and graphics potential. It had a GPU capable of light graphics work, it had a decent processor(according to reviews) and it came in a 12" package which was supposedly the middle man of 11" and 13" screens.

Good netbook - Hardware issues

James A. Lee, Amazon
8 May 2011
  • Summary: This netbook is a solid choice for portable computing. However, it has numerous hardware problems. The issues with the touchpad are the most prominent, with the only way to fix it requiring you to take apart the device and remove two little silver pads underneath the touchpad.

Excellent Netbook Except For TheTouchPad and Bloatware

Jeffrey Liss, Amazon
7 May 2011
  • Summary: I spent a day getting rid of all the Asus Bloatware on this unit. I must have gotten rid of close to 20 programs in the control panel after researching what each program did and coming to the conclusion that I did not need any of these programs.

Good bang for the buck.

B. Blach, Amazon
19 April 2011
  • Summary: I've looked for a 12 in netbook for a long time and finally decided on my 1215B-MU17. I didn't want to carry around a big bulky 15in, and 13in laptops didn't seem that much smaller. Ten inch was too small, so 12 inch is a perfect compromise.

Netbook, maybe?

T, Amazon
19 April 2011
  • Summary: I've only had it for a few days, so take this with a grain of salt. Processing speed isn't great, but isn't slow either. It is a seashell computer though it doesn't call it that here. Windows 7 is 64 bit. The battery life is only 4 hours though, or so it says in the taskbar, not the 8 in the specs.

ASUS Eee PC 1215T-MU17-BK Black 12.1" WXGA NetBook

  • Excerpt: Very good machine. I might have rated it four or five eggs if I didn't have a hardware dilemma that I have to resolve with ASUS. I assume that New Egg ought to deal with these matters when they arise. They should act on the behalf of the buyer to resolve the issue with ASUS.

A speedy, compact, portable laptop for all your needs!

Stargirl1..., Ciao
3 May 2012
  • Excerpt: I recieved this laptop as a Christmas gift, and have been using it very regularly for four months now. As a University student, I needed a portable laptop that would not only help me in my studies, but also allow me to comfortably browse the internet, use skype, watch movies and much more!
  • Pros: Small size, quick speed, attractive appearence
  • Cons: Gets a tad slow at times, and could do with a bigger memory

ASUS Eee PC 1215T-MU17-BK Black 12.1" WXGA NetBook

Sancho, pricebat.ca
17 August 2011
  • Excerpt: The computer itself is absolutely what I wanted. Smaller than a typical laptop, but not overly smaller. It has sufficient power to really run World of Warcraft, when I am on trips out of town.
