ASUS EeePC 1002HA

PC Magazine
31 October 2009
  • Conclusion: Its metallic finish makes the ASUS EeePC 1002HA the most attractive netbook to date, and its performance doesn't disappoint. However, this netbook could use some help in the features department.
  • Pros: Gunmetal is a welcome look in a netbook. Overclocking software is included. The 92 percent keyboard is on a par with the Wind's. Achieved excellent battery life on a two-cell lithium polymer. Bright 10-inch widescreen. Under $500.
  • Cons: Lacks a six-cell battery. Could use more features.

Review Asus Eee PC 1002HA Mini-Notebook

Notebookcheck
31 October 2009
  • Conclusion: Among all other currently available netbook models, their remakes and new releases Asus has a big advantage. Everybody looking for a mini notebook knows the Eee PC. Each new generation of Eee PCs is more mature and so, it is not that easy for competitors to keep up with. The same is true for the Eee PC 1002HA. Equipped with Intel Atom N270 processors this notebook does not only look elegant and chic , but also professional.
  • Pros: Very solid workmanship, Robust and stable aluminum case with noble design, Silent system noise, VGA out for external screen, WLAN, LAN, bluetooth, Notebook bag included, Display brightness (with eeectl), Non-glare display, Good temperatures even under load, The aluminum case is not only very robust and stable, it also looks very chic. The high-quality workmanship could also score points.
  • Cons: No optical drive, Surface around the screen is sensible to fingerprints, No UMTS, Moderate display brightness without eeectl tool, An optical drive would indeed have been great - but you cannot have everything.

Asus Eee 1002HA

maximum pc
8 April 2009
  • Summary: We dig the Eee 1002HA’s newfound sense of style, more comfortable keyboard, great battery life (for a two-cell), and kick-ass Photoshop scores. We still think the Acer Aspire One is a cheapskate’s best friend and the HP Mini 1000’s keyboard is beyond compare, but we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this Eee to anyone who wants a hard-working, long-lasting netbook.
  • Pros: Stylish, high-performing netbook with a roomy HDD, and three USB ports.
  • Cons: Still on the pricey side. Keyboard no match for the HP Mini 1000’s.

Asus Eee 1002HA Review

Digitaltrends
10 March 2009
  • Conclusion: Asus has almost certainly hit the mark in its effort to offer a notebook that delivers more mature, refined styling in a package that’s still competitive with more basic netbooks . Though the 1002HA does command a price slightly higher than your run-of-the-mill netbook, Asus justifies it with better hardware (like a 160GB hard drive) as much as it does in the style department, making details like aluminum trim feel like an accompaniment to a better machine, not just a...
  • Pros: Aluminum trim adds style;large hard drive; comfortable keyboard; compact power brick
  • Cons: Plastic chassis still shines through; dim, somewhat dull screen; slight price premium; so-so battery life

Expert Review

ComputerShopper

  • Excerpt: The Eee PC 1002HA improves on the company’s 1000-series netbooks and is one of the best—though not the best—on the market.
  • Pros: Sophisticated styling, Good performance for the class, Thinner and lighter than previous 1000-series models, Large, gesture-enabled touch pad
  • Cons: Cramped keyboard, Oddly placed memory-card slot, Below-average battery life

ASUS Eee PC 1002HA

LAPTOP Magazine
4 December 2008
  • Summary: Those looking for a netbook with a 10-inch screen and a spacious keyboard will find nearly everything they are looking for in the Eee PC 1002HA. ASUS's replacement to its popular Eee PC 1000H is more attractive and an equally capable performer. Overall, we recommend the similarly configured Samsung NC10 because it offers a better keyboard and much longer endurance for the same price, but some will prefer the 1002HA's slicker design.
  • Pros: Sleek design, Multi-touch trackpad, Spacious keyboard, Good Wi-Fi performance,
  • Cons: Awkwardly placed right Shift key, Shorter battery life than comparable netbooks, No extended battery option,
