Pretty good.

LGD, Amazon
9 July 2010
  • Summary: This netbook is pretty good but doesn't have the approx. 10 hour battery that is advertised. The most I have been able to get is 7 hours fully charged but once you open an application then the battery meter goes to 5 hours. Better than nothing.

It's all about build quality

ML, Amazon
8 July 2010
  • Summary: As netbooks have more or less standard hardware under the hood, netbooks can really only be distinguished by the parts that you the user interact with, namely, the screen, keyboard, and touchpad. I don't really have any complaints about the former and the latter.

ATTENTION: No recovery disc included!

T. Wynn, Amazon
8 July 2010
  • Summary: After extensive research into netbooks I bought the Eee PC 1001p-pu17. I wanted the following features (in order of importance): non-glare screen, recovery disc, long battery life, wlan b/g/n, decent keyboard, and bluetooth. The other netbook I considered was the HP Mini 210.

battery only good for 5 hours when playing mpeg2 video

laoxiao, Amazon
8 July 2010
  • Summary: i was hoping to reach 6 hours or even 8 hours video playing but it stops at 5 hours on one charge, note it's for mpeg2 video decoding which most cpu can handle well(mpeg4/h.264 is more cpu intensive and power hungry).

Windows 7 Starter Version ruins this machine

**Meya**, Amazon
8 July 2010
  • Summary: After originally really liking this Netbook, imagine my surprise that it cannot be connected to our local network running 2 XP computers and a Vista machine. You must have full blown Windows 7 to connect. This makes this netbook very much crippled for most users.

OK for basic functions but need patience to operate it.

ccc, Amazon
6 July 2010
  • Summary: I love the fact that the battery last a long time and also that it is light and compact. However, it is a SLOW computer! Sometimes it takes minutes until the application is fully launched and ready for work. Can be very annoying.

Not bad, but

Mike, Amazon
5 July 2010
  • Summary: if you plan to use this notebook for something other than email and "lightly" surfing the web, this isn't for you. Got this for my 9yr old daughter because she thinks she's 15. She loves playing Webkinz, Wizard 101 and other games like these on the internet.

Basic machine for Linux experimentation

C A Sylvester, Amazon
17 February 2013
  • Summary: Basic machine, handles the tasks set it well, bought for the sole purpose of experimenting with linux distributions. Second hand machine, cosmetic wear, battery is a little old, packaging could have been better, but this isn't a reflection on the product as it was second hand.
