Summary: The hardware is excellent. The retina screen is the best I used and the SSD makes the retina Macbook Pro extremely fast. The Mavericks OS and a few packaged programs like iTunes has a few glitches but work well enough.
Summary: Having to retrain myself on everything. I miss Windows XP but it was a power hog and OS X is not. I miss the right click and screen print buttons. Delete is now backspace to just name a few things I don't like about the keyboard. But it is really fast and the screen is amazing!
Summary: This was a significant investment in terms of price and I am glad that I went for it. The performance, user experience of the MAC is simply fantastic, I love the fact that I could get things going within seconds after booting the laptop (around 30 sec to be precise), love MAC for that. Add to that this is very lightweight yet so sophisticated.
Summary: I bought the late 2013 model with 512GB "SSD" (ME294LL/A). It's slimmer than its predecessors, and with more powerful CPU. I am able to run a 4K display and another 1080p external monitor smoothly without any problems. 16GB RAM is good but I wish for opportunity to upgrade to 32GB as I run virtual machines. Same with upgradable storage.
Summary: I have been a lifetime PC user. My machine of choice was the Thinkpads (still very capable laptops to this day), but i figured it's time to make the switch to Mac and see what the fuss is all about. First impression: Amazing screen (for optimized apps and sites), beautiful machine, and light.. Battery life, nothing much to write home about, probably because i'm running parallels constantly. Heat: this laptop gets really hot, sometimes without reason..
Summary: I'm a gear-head by nature and live somewhere between art and computer science. I've adminstrated herds of iMacs and Mac Pro workstations, built Hackintosh machines and until I bought this machine I favored my beasty Lenovo D20 workstation with dual Xeon's and 2 GB ATI Firepro GPU and a BDRW drive on Windows 7 Ultimate above all others. This little slim macbook changed that. 1.
