Summary: This computer is excellent, but I was disappointed to open it up and see that the liquid damage indicators had been triggered. I couldn't see any sign of corrosion, but this still means I can't get any warranty on this computer.
Summary: The reason Apple rose to a prominent position was because they used to have great customer service. I bought a half a dozen of their high end computers over the years but now I am totally dissatisfied. I paid over 3K for the features of y MacBook and the cord was so cheap that comes with this that it frayed, cracked and they refused to replace it for me. I can't believe it.
Summary: The screen is fantastic, and that's why you're looking at this product. However, be warned: the battery life doesn't last anything near the 7-hours claimed. This is an authentic Apple Macbook Pro with Retina Display, and runs at high speed. Maybe that's why the battery sucks.
Summary: When I opened the pack, I found the inner machine seal(factory white seal) is broken, that means, someone opened it before. Fortunately, the battery cycle count is 1. I hope I could buy it only 2 days later, because other seller offered additional 50$ discount. I didnot make a refund because I have to pay for return postage costs. Since it is apple's perfect product, I give 3 stars.
Best laptop I've ever had except for the screen!!!
23 April 2013
Summary: I love this laptop. The retina display is gorgeous. I was so surprised when I first picked it up. I couldn't believe that a laptop could be so lightweight and the screen could be so thin. The words on the screen are so crystal clear. I had to send it back to the factory twice which I'll get to momentarily. But while it was gone, I worked on my old MBP which I bought in 2009. I really appreciated the speed and beauty of display of the rMBP when I got it back.
Pros: 1. Super lightweight, 2. Super thin, 3. Retina display is absolutely gorgeous (until the white spots appear), 4. SUPER, SUPER fast, 5. Great battery life, 6. Airplay mirroring
Cons: 1. Retina display is absolutely gorgeous (until the white spots appear), 2. No disk drive but it's acceptable as light as the laptop is; fair trade-off, 3. Only two USB ports
Summary: I really wanted to love this machine. Its form factor is perfect, battery life long, and screen big enough for full-time use. However, I returned it after a week and a half because my eyestrain from this machine was absolutely unbearable. It was like someone drilled through my eyes and I could feel the pain even in the morning, waking up after a good night's sleep. I checked the Apple forums, and sure enough, I'm far from the only person to have this issue.
Summary: For me this laptop was an important upgrade from my relatively old 13" MacBook Air. It is much faster and the screen is almost perfect for photograph edition. The illuminated keyboard is an important feature for me specially when I use it on dark environments. The only bad thing is the MagSafe power connector. It was a big surprise for me see how easily can be disconnected so I have to reconnect very very often.
Summary: I'm on the market for a premium laptop, so I even this one was out of my budget ($1700) I was willing to buy it if it really would make an impression on me.
Pros: Screen, light weight for the size, look
Cons: Webpages look pixelated, Price, no numeric keypad, low price/functionality ratio., not portable, not professional, 15.4 IN is not good enough for a graphic/video editor, Too expensive for home use.
