Refurbished computer, battery sucks

rakuten
2 May 2014
  • Summary: I received the refurbished Macbook Pro for my daughter. Computer worked fine except the battery would go from 100% to 33% in 1/2 hour then die shortly after. Thought it would at least com w/ a good battery.

Serious GPU/Logicboard Problem

Maciej Burniak, Amazon
11 April 2014
  • Summary: One week after receiving the unit I started to have serious problem with blue screen appearing on during starting process.I was forced to send the macbook to the professional service. If I have luck and reballing will solve the problem, then the costs will not kill me, but if it is a logic board problem and it needs to be replaced (over 700 bugs!!!) then the day I purchased this used macbook pro was not my happiest day...

  • Summary: With System 10.9 (Mavericks), 4GB of ram will make this laptop a dog. As has often been true in the past, Apple packages the laptop in an under-rammed situation.

  • Summary: I bought this and I was lied to. Every time you unplug the laptop from the charger, after 5 minutes it shuts off. Very disappointed.

love the ease of use, but 2 hard drive failures!

jenverk, Amazon
23 November 2012
  • Summary: I love the ease of use as with all apple products, however, have had 2 hard drive failures and a track pad that needed to be replaced. Would expect that for the price, it would be more reliable. I would not purchase a macbook pro again. Thank god for time machine back up!

Is it worth the cost?

  • Excerpt: This laptop looked pretty good to me when I observed it in an apple store in a mall close to where I live, I even recommended it to a cousin of mine that was searching for something comfortable. However I was very dissapointed when I took it home. It scratched easily, the keyboard was extremely uncomfortable and it was just plain confusing to work with! The only thing beneficial that came out of it was the fact that it didnt get dirty very easily and it looked good.

Mac Book Pro not worth it.

AlissaKatherine, Viewpoints
9 September 2012
  • Excerpt: I had a Mac Book Pro for about a year. While it did all the things I wanted it too for the most part, it would slow down and be annoying just like any other laptop. Sure, the flashy features like the multi-touch trackpad are nice, but not when that trackpad becomes unresponsive and the whole thing doesn't work. It's not very compatiable with outside Apple products. I have two other laptops and 4 other bluetooth devices and in total it only reacts to 2 of them.

a note of caution

N. Mackenzie "Sony Jim The Cowboy", Amazon
7 July 2012
  • Summary: Bought the Apple Mac pro only 3 months ago and I've already had spec problems. I went through all the troubleshooting tips and none of them worked. When I phoned their troubleshooting hotline they told me what they want me to do is to go my nearest Apple store. Now, that's all fine and dandy if you're in a major conurbation but I live out in the sticks! My nearest one is over 40 miles away!!
