The early 2011 MacBook Pro has a design fault in the logic board
24 June 2014
Summary: If you're thinking of buying a used early 2011 Macbook Pro, don't do it. It has a design fault that causes a catastrophic logic board failure, requiring a replacement of the whole logic board. I've had it replaced twice - in a computer that's only 3 years old. Fortunately, it was under AppleCare, but if it wasn't, I would have been out about $600.
Summary: After receiving the MacBook laptop that Hapon sold to us as "in perfect like new condition", I immediately experienced problems with screen pixeling, etc. The problems grew more and more extensive and the computer would completely shut down. The computer finally reached of point of not even booting up only three months after we received it from Hapon.
Summary: The guy who sold this to me was a fraud. Nothing was good!!! The laptop did not even turn on! I am outraged! I bought a piece of junk. I would give 0 stars if possible!!!! This salesman is a liar.
Summary: Got the computer in timely fashion but as soon as I got it the battery was no good. Three weeks later it needed a re wire due to overheating.... Once the computer technician opened it up he said there had already been a previous re wire and doing it again won't help for very long. Highly disappointed in this purchase.... There was no warning in the sale info that the computer had already had a re wire or that the battery was no good.
Summary: This is the second Mac Book Pro I have purchased from AMAZON, this model purchased in early 2012, and another 15" MBP model 3 years earlier. I seem to be having repeat problems as the Mother Board in this one is diagnosed as faulty, related to the graphics card. AGAIN!!! I had this problem with the last one, and after it served me 3 years I thought it was due a change, only to have the repeated problem on this model, after ONLY 18 months from from Date of Purchase.
Summary: I bought one of these laptops last Christmas , when I first got it, it would not hold a charge, I called company and they sent me new battery, all was good for 5 months, then the computer just stopped working all together, I brought it to Mac people and they told me the mother board was blown, that it was defective.. So I got about 5 months out of it and paid over 600. ... Not such a good deal:(. I would never recommend this to anybody.
Summary: right out of the box the wireless card did not work. I called the company telling them it was bad, and they agreed to have the computer shipped back to them to fix. before i could get it back to them, it stopped working completely. I had to go out and buy a brand new macbook pro from the store to finish the project i was working on.
