Very low-quality shopping experience

Seyyid, Amazon
24 May 2014
  • Summary: Bought this MacBook as a gift for my cousin months ago. Since she bought another MacBook for herself we decided to return it. She returned the gift to Amazon a day after she received the package. Yet, we still did not get our refund back! I am not happy with this messy shopping at all. Still waiting the Amazon representatives to solve the problems they created.

Caution Advised

S. Lyde, Amazon
16 April 2014
  • Summary: I ordered this from Amazon and received a used computer. It already had a user specified, "Don't Hate Me" was the user name which required a password to log on. I was worried when I could see the Apple seal on the package was already broke and there were fingerprints on the unit.

Terrible!

Anthony Vallejos, Amazon
16 February 2014
  • Summary: I ordered what was described as the latest MacBook Pro with retina. What I got was an outdated mid-2010 model with no retina display and in terrible cosmetic condition. I paid for overnight delivery to have it before the long weekend and now I'm stuck with no computer and $1200 in Amazon's account instead of mine. Not a good experience!

UNRELIABLE BATTERY POWER FOR MEDIUM TO HEAVY COMPUTING USE

MSK, Amazon
2 December 2013
  • Summary: Purchased this on about November 1st. Once I began using it on battery power in the second week of use, it became clear that the battery would run down dramatically during medium to heavy gaming (typically 80-100 minutes of use). I was shocked the first time I got a 10% battery warning after maybe 70 minutes of use. Graphics were set at lower levels and brightness no more than 50%.

Amazing Laptop But Crashes

Ben, Amazon
7 November 2013
  • Summary: EDIT2: Laptop just crashed after using the update to correct it. I'm returning it. One star because of these issues. ------------------ EDIT: It turns out Apple has released a software update, Nov 7, to fix the crashing issue. Hopefully it has. I'll update this review if not. Otherwise this laptop is great! There currently isn't any laptop that has: 8gb RAM Ultra high res display HD5100 AC Wifi 8+ hours of battery life I'm a malware analyst. This laptop fixes this job.

Beware!

Matt's Dad, Amazon
1 August 2013
  • Summary: I bought a "like-new" MacBook Pro Retina from Amazon Warehouse and it turned out to be a lemon. It would not turn on regardless of whether I connected the power supply or whether it was running on battery. What a hassle! When I contacted Amazon, they told me that I would have to pay for the return shipping out of my pocket. Unbelievable! I have to pay to ship back a defective item?! For shame! Amazon Warehouse should check the merchandise (e.g. TRY TURNING IT ON!

Love the resolution - Hate the issues with HD video editing

J. Park "Amazon Junkie", Amazon
22 April 2013
  • Summary: This is my first Apple. I heard great things about quality, user-friendliness, and performance and I didn't want to drop hundreds on something that would only last a couple of years (such as my last 3 PC purchases), so I took the plunge with a big investment on a 128GB 13inch retina. The retina display IS very nice. Ironically, because the resolution is so crisp, now I'm more sensitive to web pages where an image isn't the highest quality.
