Once you go Mac...
Summary: I was a PC user before I purchased this computer and I will still pull out my Windows laptop and put it side-by-side with the Mac. It's a world of difference, especially in the display. The retina screen displays pictures and websites with so much more vibrance than my old computer. I also like that you can see the screen pretty well from any angle. I used to have to angle my screen "just right" to be able to see adequately.
Summary: I always had a bad experience with windows 7 and windows 8 and I was already in the apple eco system, so I got this laptop. It is so fast and it is pretty light for not being in the ultra book category. So complaints is that when you close the lid of the computer while watching a video the sound gets messed up. This is not a big problem because you can log out of your account and join back and it's gone.
Summary: Im so happy i bought this thing.. I was going back and forth between and PC and MAC and chose this... it IS SO FAST!!!! literally... it boots up in seconds. The only thing is that it has a problem getting back on wifi sometimes when I wake it up. I usually have to turn wifi off and on again for it to reconnect. PLan on going to the apple store and Im sure its just a software issue... (Im hoping) either was its the best computer ive ever owned, couldn't be happier.
UNRELIABLE BATTERY POWER FOR MEDIUM TO HEAVY COMPUTING USE
3 weeks ago
Summary: Purchased this on about November 1st. Once I began using it on battery power in the second week of use, it became clear that the battery would run down dramatically during medium to heavy gaming (typically 80-100 minutes of use). I was shocked the first time I got a 10% battery warning after maybe 70 minutes of use. Graphics were set at lower levels and brightness no more than 50%.
Summary: I purchased a custom version of the ME865LL/A with 16GB of RAM through my university with an education discount for $1,579 + Los Angeles Sales Tax 9% and $3 California Recycling Fee for a grand total of $1,724.11. As a college student, this is not a cheap laptop at all. I previously owned a 2010 13" Macbook Pro with an upgraded 500GB hard drive and 8GB of RAM - but it was stolen when I left it at work.
Summary: I bought a new MacBook Pro three weeks ago, and while working at a cafe noticed that the network speed was extremely slow. I did a ping to a major website and saw well over 40 % packet loss. I assumed there was something wrong with the cafe's internet connection. But, later that night, at home, I experienced the same issue. I checked my wife's laptop and the performance was normal, with zero packet loss. So I figured I got a lemon.
Summary: -amazing laptop, only problem is who in the hell creates a computer with 128GB of storage!! I understand its a solid state but come on! -if ur planning on buying this computer because its the cheapest retina display, i suggest u buy an external hard drive.
