Excerpt: How sad when a good product goes bad. Greed and desire for control is destroying Mac computers. This computer came with Maverick and it is a worse OS than Windows. This computer WAS however well built and last of it's kind in being able to upgrade it, ie RAM and HDs without having to buy a new computer. New Macbooks are no longer upgradable. So I will use my old (2006) 17" MBP until it dies . . .
Summary: Had a problem with the hard drive right out of the box. Had to buy another one. Not real happy about it but did it anyway because a friend got a good price on a larger one.Other than that it is great.
Not a good experience for my wife who depends on the laptop for her work cc

Summary: I am currently still trying to get this laptop fixed by apple after owning it for only 2 months. The laptop will not fire up. Also turns out the computer is a 2012. The computer was worked on by the seller, so I am not sure if that was the cause of the problems or not. It has been a real problem trying to get it fixed. There a not that many apple service centers and getting any appointment takes several days.
Too short POS rusty cable. At least it kinda works.
9 August 2014
Summary: Worked, sort of. The cable is not the same length as the original so the two central screws cannot be placed back, nor the bracket that holds the HDD. I had to hold things down with 3M Durapore. The cable was used and one of the holes where the screws should go is rusty. I had to purchase a HDD/SSD Caddy bay to move the drive to where the optical bay is soon because I know this POS cable is not going to work much longer.
Summary: I am a great fun of the MacBook (PRO) series from Apple and all work great for me. I bought a used one and its performance turned out to be below what I'd experienced before! Its colours ain't good and track pad is not as smooth in response. I didn't test it much but those could be signs to look out for in a used product before you buy one.
Summary: They shipped me another brand called ArchMemory - never heard of this brand - I had ordered a Samsung. So am going to return it unopened. Going overseas in a few days and thought I'd upgrade the mem on my MacBook before I leave now everything is up in the air! Not a satisfied customer.
Not Hynix (authentic to Apple computers) as shown in seller description

Summary: The RAM I received was not authentic 'Hynix' RAM as described. It was no name generic RAM... not sure if that has any effect on anything but I purchased from this seller because they show the authentic RAM that comes with Apple computers. The computer recognized the RAM and it seems to be working okay but I'm just not happy that I was sent generic RAM that didn't match the brand already installed in the computer.
Summary: I'm really disappointed in the longevity of this MacBook Pro considering how much it cost. I expect a lot better out of a $1,200 laptop. Before this I used a few cheap PC laptops, and while they were never super fast they did always seem to work. I got tired of having to replace those PC laptops all the time along with the shoddy build quality so I thought a MacBook Pro would be the solution.
Pros: Looks good, feels well built. Screen looks nice (though I prefer matte finish). Hardware is pretty good, runs most things without a problem. Nice keyboard, nice trackpad. I honestly liked using this laptop, until...
Cons: ...things started breaking. Now I baby my electronics, I don't throw them in a bag or toss them on the table or whatever that causes wear on other people's laptops. I had no dents, no scratches on this laptop, I even had a screen protector on it and a keyboard cover. One complaint, the laptop always ran a bit warm. In fact, on occasion it would get very hot and I could hear the fan spool up and make noise. Come to find out, it's because I watch YouTube videos a lot as...
