Summary: I replaced an early 2008 Macbook with this base-model Macbook Air. The speed difference is astounding, and the battery life has me frequently forgetting my charger - and only realizing I forgot it when I see it laying on my desk when I get home. Getting used to the smaller hard drive is a work in progress.

Summary: I have been using the new Macbook Air for almost a week now. I actually started with the 11 inch because I wanted the lightest possibly laptop, and I used to have a smaller screen, but I guess it was just too small. I was noticing things like a shaking screen and I had been using a 15 inch Macbook Pro with the aluminum keyboard for the last five years. When I got the 13 inch, everything looked and felt just right. In my opinion, a laptop battery has one major task.
Summary: this review is about my personal honest experience, i am not a computer wizard. like most of you, i had a hard time thinking which one to buy, an air or a pro. what i did is purchased the two and see which one will better suit my needs and send back the one that I won't like. so I went at my local best buy and did so. after using both products for 14days, here are my thoughts. the macbook air looks very beautiful on the outside.
Summary: This is a great machine. BUT ... you need to truly understand the limited number of ports (2 usb 2.0 and 1thunderbolt). Where this becomes a problem is when you want to connect external monitors and use it to connect to a digital tv. The thunderbolt output will only suppot 2 monitors if they are the Apple 27" at $1000 apiece.
Summary: I love the 13.3" Macbook Air, I love not having a hard drive, I love how light it is and even with only 4gigs of RAM with the SSD drive I find it plenty fast. Unfortunately the display has a brownish/yellowish tint to it. I had Amazon send me a replacement but it's display was even worse. A lot of research on the web found that this is a common problem, inconsistent displays.
Summary: I recently purchased a mid-2012 version of the Macbook Air for travel and presentations. However, within days of having it I found that it would not properly connect to a projector. Turns out this is a known issue that currently has no permanent fix. The current workaround is to reboot the machine with the thunderbolt to VGA adapter connected. While I might accept such answers from third rate computer vendors, Apple has built their reputation on being better than this.
Summary: This is a wonderful product, well designed and very light. Unfortunately, the Wifi is not reliable. I have many other Apple products connecting to my home network with no problems, but this MacBook Air just can't keep a reliable connection. The connection slows down to a crawl every few minutes, sometimes it drops. On Apple users forums, I discovered hundreds of other people had the same problem (google for 'Macbook Air Wifi problems'.
