Alienware M15x Review

thinkdigit.com
29 December 2010
  • Summary: Great performance, great looks but a hefty price tag - that is what the Alienware M15X has to offer. Perhaps the most shocking letdowns at its price are the quality of speakers and the lack of DirectX 11 support.
  • Pros: Great looks, Superb performance, Very good build quality
  • Cons: Very expensive, No support for DX11 or USB3.0

  • Conclusion: There's no doubt the Alienware M15x is a blistering gaming laptop, but it all depends on how much you're prepared to pay, and we're not quite sure who it's for. You're not going to leave the house with it, so why not just get a full on gaming desktop rig with an epic screen? Still, however you kit it out, we guarantee you won't be disappointed.
  • Pros: If you dig Alienware's flying saucer looks, you'll love the build of the Alienware M15x. It's smooth, flashy, and comes with a backlit keyboard essential for night time gaming sessions. The screen is pin sharp and responsive, so Blu-rays will look gorgeous if you make sure to add a BD drive into yours, and the Intel Core i7 chip is ludicrously fast. DVD ripping flies, and even without the optional 1GB NVIDIA GTX260, you can get ultra smooth frame rates from a game as ...
  • Cons: It's hardly surprising that the Alienware M15x is huge, and has a miserable battery life (about an hour and a half with Wi-Fi on). And even the lowest specced Alienware M15x comes in at a hefty £1,179, but if you want any of the bells and whistles like a full 1080p screen, bigger hard drive or more memory, you're looking at enormous additional costs. We decked out an Alienware M15x on Dell's shop with all the max settings available, and it comes in at £4,266. Why not ...

Review Alienware M15x Gaming-Notebook

Notebookcheck
25 April 2010
  • Conclusion: Generally, the Alienware made a very good impression. The M15x probably doesn't have competitors in design, materials, stability and workmanship. Additionally, the multifarious and, adaptable to the smallest detail, lighting is a real eye-catcher . The good input devices and the over-average sound are very impressive. Furthermore, both the soundscape and the temperature development, especially in idle mode, barely give reason for complaint.
  • Pros: Excellent workmanship, Futuristic but posh design, High stability, Multifarious and adjustable light, Very good display, Good input devices, Fairly low surface temperature, High performance, Over-averagely good sound, Pleasant soundscape in idle mode, The grand design in the style of super sports cars, the excellent workmanship, the (generally) high-end materials and the extensive, even if a bit flashy, lighting.
  • Cons: Average battery life, Intensely reflective display, Smudge susceptible display frame, No HDMI, An HDMI port, as display ports aren't as common and the image quality turns out fairly average over VGA. Also, a higher battery life and a matt display frame. A matt display would have been nice, too.

Alienware M15x

LAPTOP Magazine
16 October 2009
  • Summary: The Alienware M15x is undoubtedly the fastest 15-inch gaming notebook we’ve tested, and its looks match its performance. However, other rigs offer better bang for your buck. For example, the ASUS G51J-A1 may not have the cool backlit keyboard, edge-to edge display, or a Blu-ray player, but it gets comparable gaming scores, and costs $1,100 less. Nevertheless, if you want the best-looking and best-performing 15-inch rig on the block, this is the notebook to get.
  • Pros: Blazingly fast, Cool design, Gorgeous full HD display, Crisp smooth Blu-ray playback, Customizable lights,
  • Cons: Expensive, Mediocre speakers,

Análisis del Portátil para Juegos Alienware M15x

Notebookcheck.es
25 July 2012
