Summary: FAIL! I will be returning this refurbished Acer back to Walmart as soon as I can make the time to do it. I took it out of the box, turned it on, and almost immediately things started to go wrong with this laptop. It became unbearably slow, apps would open and close of their own accord, and booting up would take longer and longer each time I would turn the thing on. At this point, it won't boot up at all. I am a computer scientist with over 30 years of experience.
Summary: The laptop looks beautiful and the backlit keyboard is a plus, but after playing with it for 2 days it started to slow down on me. I used the laptop for browsing and email. It would have been understandable if I did some heavy gaming but that was not the case. The touchpad is too sensitive and there was also a mark on the screen like someone hit it with something.
Summary: I was a little disappointed in this purchase. I wanted a laptop to play LOL on and use for basic internet functions. Nothing fancy really. Acer is a good brand and it had a dedicated graphics card but I could only play LOL on the lowest settings and I had countless issues with the wireless card. I get kicked off of wireless networks constantly. Makes streaming Netflix almost impossible. The screen is nice and I like the keyboard.
Summary: Computer seemed fine at first but after spending 4 or 5 hours installing updates and customizing the settings a yellow line appeared on screen. Tried updating the graphics driver but various sites on the web listed this problem as a hardware issue... Back in the box and returned it to Walmart next day. That's what I get for trying to save a few bucks.
Research paid off and found me the perfect laptop!

Summary: I love this model. I did a buttload of research before purchasing this laptop, and I did a good job in getting exactly what I wanted: a reasonably priced laptop that could handle both the average net surfing and streaming AND some gaming. We've got about 10 or so games and the highly rated NVIDIA GEForce graphics processor does its job well and runs them all spectacularly!
Summary: I don't know what its price is right now, but I bought it on Black Friday and it was 530$ back then! Totally worth the price. I don't like Win8 but you can simply ignore its new features and use it like Win7!
Summary: I have used an HP for the past several years and recently allowed someone to suggest Acer. This Laptap was the right price for the specs but I DISLIKE THIS COMPUTER! The graphics, sound, etc are great but for work purposes the mousepad is touchy and constantly erases my work or swipes to another page completely....
