Summary: the computer is fast and easy to use. I dont even mind the Windows 8. My son loves it for his computer games. The biggest issues is the ridiculous sensitivity of the keyboard/mouse pad. I actually just wrote a review and had it deleted somehow.
Summary: I'm content with it for the most part. There's still a little getting used to Windows 8. The space bar keeps getting stuck. Also the track pad keeps deleting words as I type them. These are little things you'll just have to deal with.
Summary: I would buy it again. The price was right. The machine works well for the most part. The touch screen is a great feature and the whole system is zippy. Every once in a while the mouse pad will stop working and I have to pull the battery.
Summary: Four days after receiving laptop the hard drive failed. Had to ship back to Acer, and took 14 calenders be repaired and shipped back. Overall a good laptop. I mainly purchased this laptop for graduate school. A laptop with similar features would have cost at least $200 more.
Summary: I have found Windows 8 to be exceptionally frustrating. The transition between touch screen operation and keypad operation often results in loss of info when typing.and becomes especially frustrating when using excel. Found that addition of a wireless mouse helped to solve many of those issues.
The constant need for replacement screws are a pain
19 September 2013
Summary: After one year plagued by screws falling out of the bottom of the machine, something that I've never encountered so frequently in a laptop, the screen has finally broken. The loss of support from the lost screws started causing the hinges to break, and even with me purchasing replacement screws and...
Summary: CONS: Purchased this from a Company in California so I figured I would not get any type of service from them after receiving. When I first got it I was disappointed in this new technology, Nvidia Optimus. I assumed it was a separate video card that I could use instead of the onboard video card.
How in the world did they allow a uni-touch pad out the design door?
Compelled to write a review, Amazon
8 May 2013
Summary: 11/9/2013 update. After successfully restoring my Acer, I am not having connectivity issues anymore. Go figure. Also I set the uni-pad tap to OFF. I upgraded to windows 8.1 but did not like having MSN email control my computer so I restored back to windows 8.
Summary: I have found this computer to be excellent. However, when I purchased it despite the horror stories about windows 8. The system is slow, cumbersome and skips from one window to the other. I have contacted Microsoft and Acer.
Summary: The laptop runs very slowly and cool. The contrast, brightness, and colors are dim and below average. The hard drive location is extremely difficult to access. The screen is thin and flimsy and you can actually bend it using only two fingers. Good looking laptop with very bad design.
