Summary: Laptop was fine for a couple months and then HARD DISK died for no reason while I was surfing the internet?? I had a Sony for more than 4 years without a problem - this laptop is a piece of junk. The screen is of horrible quality and hurts your eyes after a couple hours using it.
Summary: The Acer Aspire V5-571P is a quality laptop measured by materials and function. However, mine dropped its WiFi Internet connections every five to ten minutes whether at home or on the road. This frustrated me beyond belief, thinking that the antenna design must be defective. In desperation, I searched the Internet for a solution, finding both the problem and the solution.
Windows 8 is very hard to work with, I'm not sure if the computer was the right choice

Summary: I can't say whether or not the Acer computer meets my needs yet because the Windows OS is so user unfriendly that I have found I don't use it as much as my previous computer. I am not opposed to change and I feel I'm relatively tech savvy but Windows 8 is terrible. In my past experience revised/new OS's all required getting use to to but I was able to intuitively move around and then understand the systems, It is not the same with this system.
Summary: I don't know if it's Windows 8 or the laptops design. Even as I write this review the mouse jumps all over the place and takes me back to the Windows 8 home page. A major flaw is the large mouse pad that is inadvertently struck when using the key pad. This makes it difficult to type and navigate pages. I'm very disappointed. Also the pixels are extremely large when viewing web pages. This product isn't for beginners. Maybe I was expecting too much.
Apparently Hit and Miss...which no-one wants to pay $900 for.

Summary: I bought this laptop recently and am returning it. As other reviewers mention, the wireless is terrible - even after installing the latest version (10.0.0.225) from the acer site. Bluetooth would also fail to function properly, my paired devices would lose connectivity, then when trying to reconnect I was unable to do so and was also unable to easily remove the device. I'd have to manually uninstall the device via the device manager.
Summary: I was attracted to this laptop because of the overall good reviews on Amazon. After receiving my unit and was in the process of setting and migrating my data to the new computer, much to my dismay, I discovered this laptop does not have a cap- lock nor a num-lock indicator. This has to be the most annoying cost saving move from Acer. It will be packed up and returned ASAP.
