Summary: Mine is a year old. At first, solid performance, a nice set up with the touch screen, no issues. Fairly easy to get use to the Windows 8 system. But about 8 months pass and I had to take it in because there were technical problems. I could not get internet connection despite having my laptop say it was connected. I ended up going to Universality without a laptop for a week. And my entire system was wiped clean. Now, my ked pad is breaking. It will not 'click'.
Summary: I purchased this laptop brand new prior attending a new school because the reviews had seemed helpful and the price was reasonable. I was extremely disappointed after the hard drive crashed the first month. When I would turn it on, the screen would read: Operating system not found. I sent it to Acer to get a new hard drive installed, which they were extremely helpful and did not hassle me, but it took almost two months until they repaired and send my laptop back to me.
Summary: This was my wife's laptop for the last 20 months or so and lasted well until it crashed onto the floor. What we liked: -15.6" monitor touch screen was easy to see and worked quite well as a touch screen. -Plenty of RAM and HD space so never had to worry about those. -Comes with optical drive - we have to have at least one of those in the house! What we didn't like so much: -The trackpad is just in the way. My wife turned it off, and used just mouse+touchscreen.
Summary: I don't like the keyboard or the touch/mouse pad. You have to press extra hard to get all of the key strokes and the mouse pad is so large that when you are typing, you keep hitting it with the back part of your hand.
Summary: I'm content with it for the most part. There's still a little getting used to Windows 8. The space bar keeps getting stuck. Also the track pad keeps deleting words as I type them. These are little things you'll just have to deal with.
