Summary: I love this laptop! My old one did me well (HP Pavilion from 8 years ago), but it had become so slow and old that I needed a new one. I did my homework on and off for about a month and got it down to a few laptops, and then read and read reviews from computer sites (like cnet) online, plus user reviews and chose this computer. I am very glad. I love it. It would be worth much more, but at this price it can't be beat!
Summary: First of all, I like this laptop very much, and use it several hours a day. That being said, I’d buy another if I needed one. Screen, keyboard, touch sensitivity are wonderful. My dislikes are common to many laptops, but some are specific to Acer. There is no num lock or caps lock indicator. You can download one for free that sits in the system tray unobtrusively. Problem fixed. Even being careful, battery life isn’t that great, not so bad either.
Summary: Laptop was fine for a couple months and then HARD DISK died for no reason while I was surfing the internet?? I had a Sony for more than 4 years without a problem - this laptop is a piece of junk. The screen is of horrible quality and hurts your eyes after a couple hours using it.
Summary: I liked the Acer Aspire very much until my cat dropped a picture frame on it and shattered the screen after I had it only 2 weeks. However, when I went to get it fixed (or replace the screen myself) no one had the replacement screen and I was told they couldn't help me. I went on the Acer site and they didn't have this computer listed. If the screen could be cross referenced, then why wouldn't anyone know this?
