Summary: It has windows 8, which is a big change. I like it, but I'm also still getting used to it.
Pros: Surprisingly Thin
Cons: The battery is internal, not one you can just slip out and replace. This could be an issue if you do a lot of work where you can't be plugged in, or later when the battery begins to lose it's ability to hold a charge
Summary: If you want a portable laptop that has high enough performance for day to day tasks with some gaming and maybe some video editing then this laptop is great but it did have its flaws, like my model would only connect to WiFi after installing newer Qualcomm drivers instead of the Acer drivers on the website this was easily fixed by someone like me but someone without technical know how might just send it back.
Summary: The laptop came on time and it started up just fine. Until a few moments later when the screen froze and turned white. I restarted it and it did it again. So in the end, I never got the chance to fully use the laptop.
Summary: I got my laptop about a month and a half ago and i love it! It works great and is easy to use. I use it for school and a little bit of gaming, but just for fun. The touch screen is very accurate and works better than expected. Some of the reviews i read before i ordered my laptop said that the touch pad was very touchy and jumped around a lot. I have had no such problem with the touch pad. One thing i really like about the computer is the keyboard!
Summary: The features you get with this laptop are unbelievable. For under $500 you get... -touchscreen -backlit keyboard -fast AMD processor -Decent graphics (capable of running most games on low/medium settings) -5 hours battery when managed -usb 3 -hdmi Now how can you beat that for $500... I will admit I was cautious about buying an ACER product, they dont have the best reputation and time will only tell with this machine but I am blown away for what I got for the price.
Summary: Acer puts out one of the cheapest laptops I have seen. In my case I have had to return 3 due to issues before my 30 day return policy expired. Also, tech support is awful (India of course) I called because the SD card just sits in it's slot and does not snap in, The tech support tells me that is not right and I should return it. I return it and get a 6gb instead of an 8gb because Amazon has no more.
Summary: WALMART carelessly sticks the laptop box into a much larger box with nothing but one strip of air-pocketed wrap. There is so much unaccounted-for space that the outer box got slammed around in shipping SO BAD that the box came untaped and basically collapsed during shipping to the extent that FedEx actually noted the extraordinary damage to the box as one of its sorting facilities (I know this because I called FedEx complaining up a storm).
Summary: It's a fast and nice looking laptop, but the touch pad is WAY too sensitive and the integrated buttons are equally horrible. So bad in fact, that I had to buy a wireless mouse for it. I bought this laptop to replace a HP Windows 7 model. The Windows 8 OS that comes with it is garbage and the free upgrade to Windows 8.1 is hardly worth the time. I recently bought Office 2013 and it can't open any of the programs (word, excel, etc.).
Summary: Love the touch screen on it because it makes the use of Windows 8 much more intuitive. Great processor on this thing although I wish the graphics card was a bit better. All in all, a solid touch screen laptop.
