Happy with purchase

Kerry, Newegg
6 July 2014
  • Summary: I'm happy with my purchase, though I wish the computer had come with Windows 7.
  • Pros: It's an overall good computer that's light and fast for its price range. I also like having the touch screen.
  • Cons: Windows 8 is infuriating, but I suppose that's not really supposed to be part of this review. The only other irritation is the highly reflective screen.

  • Summary: Exactly as advertised. It was easy to set up but updates took a long time. I wish computer companies would update the OS before they sent them out. This is an excellent value for a touch screen laptop. I added a 4 GB memory stick quite easily, giving me a total of 8 GB. It does everything I want in a laptop. One complaint is that it seems heavier than I expected but not overly so.

  • Summary: Product is fast, looks good, and meets almost all expectations. The one thing that does not meet my expectations is the durability, meaning the keyboard warping almost immediately (within a few days after getting it).

  • Summary: I like this machine overall. It is a bit heavier than I had originally wanted (4.75# roughly), but is slim and compact otherwise for having a 14" screen. I enhanced the Core i5 processor by upgrading to 8 GB of system RAM. Getting used to Windows 8.1 has involved a steep learning curve and I'm still not sure how much I like it. Most of my prior programs proved compatible and there are some helpful programs included on the computer already.

  • Summary: Windows 8 is the worst operating system ever. Hard used hard to navigate not user friendly at all. Would not recommend any computer that is running Windows 8. Get seven it's better.

Awful laptop

N/A, Newegg

  • Pros: The touch screen navigation is alright, but I did not buy it for this feature.
  • Cons: I've had this laptop for about 4 months and it has been clunky and difficult to use since the beginning. I got it on sale during Cyber Monday thinking it was a good deal because of the markdown. Here are a list of all the cons:

Very good laptop.

  • Summary: I've owned this laptop now for about six weeks, and I'm not having any issues. Windows 8 and a touchscreen laptop have been a bit of a learning curve for me, but I'm getting along fine. I would recommend it.

Not bad for the price I paid.

  • Summary: Bought it as an open box for about $400. Overall great laptop. The i5 processor is decent. Froze on me a couple of times but that's to be expected from any laptop, right?
