Wifi doesn't work. Reinstalling the driver doesn't help.
Summary: Uninstalling and reinstalling the wifi driver does not always work. Many people have been complaining about the unreliable wifi on the Acer forums: http://community.acer.com/t5/Ultra-Thin/Acer-Aspire-V5-Touch-Windows-8-Wifi-Issue/td-p/19147 However, it doesn't seem like Acer is going to do anything about it.
Can't be beat at a $500 price point. Upgradable, thin and light. 3rd gen I5
4 weeks ago
Summary: Pros: Very easy to upgrade RAM (up to 16gb, 4gb 1600Mhz/12800 comes pre-installed) I5 dual core 3rd gen. Touchscreen makes Win8 much more tolerable and increases it's functionality with respect to "Apps" Very light weight and thin. Comes with an adapter to use VGA and 10/100 Ethernet.
Summary: The price was good for ths quality of laptop. 14 in. is the standard and the resolution is good enough. It is light and quiet, but still need some time with the touch screen. didn't see a problem yet, but you can't be sure since it's still new ( bought 4 weeks ago). For now, I'll say it's worth it.
Summary: Where do I start... -CPU- The dual-core i5-3337U is clocked at 1.8GHz (which is a little low, but ok for laptops.), which is normally nothing to brag about. BUT it overclocks itself to an insane 2.6GHz when needed. On top of it, the dual-core is hyperthreaded. This means the processor has 2 threads per core, which means it has double the multitasking power of an equivalent Pentium or AMD.
Summary: You can't get a lower price of this model with these specs anywhere. Its not a hardcore gaming laptop, or even a dedicated business laptop. But it is a perfect home and school laptop. It's very light, very thin and has a very attractive design. Many many things to love about this laptop. Perfect gift for your wife, girlfriend or even your mother!
Summary: One of my sons first purchased this laptop and raved about it. I was trying to decide between a tablet and a laptop. When I finally decided to go for the laptop, it was already sold out everywhere, even in the Acer store. I decided to try Amazon one more time and they had 2 left! My reasons for wanting this particular model was the backlit keyboard, a CD/DVD slot and both 2 and 3 USB slots. Although apprehensive about Windows 8, so far I love it and the laptop.
Summary: It has all the limitations of a tablet. It doesn't multitask, many products from Microsoft competitors don't work properly, for example, I can't uninstall internet explorer because my work email won't upload attachments in Chrome or Firefox (It did with windows vista), Openoffice won't download at all, and there are problems with using gmail apps. It has many annoying features, and the touch screen is so reflective, the computer can only be used in a darkened room.
Laptop is like any laptop, its a computer that works most of the time.

Summary: This computer islikeany computer on the market. It has it good points and bad points. One of the bad things on this particular computer is the space bar, you have to hit it really hard for itto register the space as you cansee bythe first three words. Thismight justbe a computerproblem or itmight be built likethis. It is very aggravating.
