Summary: I bought my Acer, loved it during the first week I had it in my possession. Forced to send it back due to BSOD's and eventual failing to start. Send it back to Acer for repairs, they reinstall Windows and send it back to me. Within a day, it BSOD's and fails to start. I send it back to Acer, they replace faulty memory. Yet again, within a day, it BSOD's and fails to restart.
Summary: The Acer is a slick looking machine, but for whatever reason it is "jumpy'" By this I mean that I will be typing along and suddenly all that I have typed is erased. To compensate for this problem, when I write anything, I tend to do so as an E-Doc so I can use the "Mail Waiting to be Sent" option to capture each and every paragraph as I write it. I am not an accomplished computer person, but I have never experienced such a problem on the other computres I have owned.
Summary: Nice laptop except for the broken spacebar!!!! I has everything I needed except the spacebar is malfunctioning. The spacebar doesn't work unless you hit it hard and right it the center. Very annoying!!! Makes it hard to do any Word documentation.
Summary: This laptop came to me via Acer without the Operating System, Windows 8, being installed on the laptop. This of course, makes the laptop unusable. Customer support was rude, and I had to end up speaking to corporate customer service in order to get the Os disc's shipped in a timely manner. I expect them on Tuesday. The laptops itself looks nice, and seems very sturdy, yet thin and light in weight.
Summary: I got a defective one with dead pixels and had to return. Acer customer service was useless but Amazon took it back no questions asked and with a smile. Bravo Amazon customer service. The screen was too dull even at max brightness. This is due to the matte screen which does eliminate glare so if glare is a really big deal for you, then this might the one. Otherwise I wouldn't recommend it. Just isn't a pleasant viewing experience.
Don't like the lap top and hate windows 8, or windows hate as I call it,
J. Williams "book or film ?", Amazon
28 July 2014
Summary: They call it windows 8, they should call it windows hate.....don't like the laptop, don't like windows hate. My son always has a Dell and for once I should have listened to him....DO NOT BUY WINDOWS H8...now I know why it's called lucky 7.
Summary: Had to return it - DVD faulty - wouldn't play the region it was supposed to (apparently a common problem with Acer DVD drives when I searched for help on Google) had to change to another region to play my perfectly normal DVDs and limited to 5 changes. - touchpad absolutely useless - jerky, sometimes works sometimes doesn't. Used with a separate mouse it's OK, but does not do what it's designed to do.
