Summary: I like the almost everything about this laptop. I would actually rate it 4.5 out of 5 but sadly there isn't any 4.5. Problems I had with it were the battery life, and the a bit low hard drive memory/space. I don't know why but the battery life was only 1 hr when I was playing a MMORPG and the hard drive memory/space is only 220 gb not 250 gb.
Summary: Like the computer, keyboard is a little hard to get used to but in time it will be fine. Like windows 7 and have had no problems with it. also bought the 2 yr laptop accidental protection plan just in case.
Summary: Sent this machine to my GF.....Told/showed her how to de-crapify it at first startup to remove all the trial-ware and bloat-ware that comes with it...She followed my instructions and She LOVES it:).....Claims it is faster than her desktop and MUCH more handy. It's a good solid machine that runs windows 7 rock stable, and is only limited by 2 USB ports, but you can fix that with USB hub cheap.
Summary: We bought this for our daughter two years ago and it is still holding strong. She is not the most gentle child but this fulfills all her computer needs. She wishes it had a web cam so she could skype. The ony negative I say is the outside plastic feels a little cheap. Great as a first time lap top for tweens.
Summary: I love this laptop!! I am self employed and i am able to use it for work and play.. it has never failed me.. it is durable and has even survived a couple of fumbles.. (accidental drops) it has great speed and graphics.. its a great buy!! my only complaint is that the speakers worked great at first and then a few months later they were not as loud but thats not a major issue for me because i have mini speakers that i use when im not traveling..
Summary: I bought this computer. It arrived with the headphone jack not working properly. It is too large for the standard headphone connection. So, I have to jiggle the connection to hear throught my headphones. I called to get it fixed, but had to send it out of state, as there was no local support. Then, 5 months later, the LCD screen broke after I put a small amount of pressure on the screen picking it up. The price to fix it? $200.00. Half the price of the computer!.
Summary: I needed a back up laptop and came across the eMachine for $399.99. My girlfriend had one, so I had used it before and she is very happy with it. I read other customer reviews and 2 things kept coming up: the keyboard and the speakers. Well, using my girlfriend's the key board was fine but the speakers were of a low quality. Mine has a sound quality that's not too bad but the key board is, well, not of a high quality.
Summary: I've been using this for about six months and I haven't had any major problems. The only issues I've found have been with older apps not working in a 64-bit Windows 7 environment (which is hardly the fault of the machine). After downloading new 64 bit drivers for my Epson printer/scanner, all my devices work fine. Hardware I'm using includes a graphics tablet and a variety of wireless USB and wired mice. All of these worked without any modification.
