Summary: I just received this laptop today and have been playing with it for the last 2 or so hours. So far I love this laptop. It has everything I need for college and more. The only thing I have to get for the laptop is Microsoft Office, which is no big deal. I got the laptop in the red color and the color is amazing. I was honestly not excepting it to be this nice of a color but it looks good. The shipping for this laptop was also very quick.
Summary: This is my 2nd attempt to buy a computer at Walmart Online. The 1st, new, to be shipped from China, never showed. I had a little problem (read: time) getting my refund, but that is resolved and this new (refurbished, but like new) computer is a better deal anyhow. Except for the challenge of getting familiar with Windows 8, I'm now a very happy camper.
Summary: I was excited to buy this because of the 1TB harddrive. However, so far the 2 biggest complaints are that 1) the speakers are on the bottom of the laptop so you can hardly hear any sound unless you have headphones or speakers. I hear the sound would be better if the laptop was on a solid surface but who ALWAYS uses a laptop on a desk? I use mine mostly in my lap. Secondly, the trackpad/touchpad is waaaaaayyyyy too sensitive.
Summary: Value? Less than NONE Meet Expectations? Hardly I haven't had much time to work with it since I bought and received it but I've migrated some important items from my old computer aka the one I am typing on now, to my Acer and thank God I have those files on a hard-drive. Now I have to use MY precious time to make arrangements to get a $500 "ACER" replaced and so on. Perhaps I should charge Acer $200 an hour?
Summary: If you're looking to buy a good laptop that sits in the range below quad core prices and gaming prices, I would definitely recommend this one. The integrated graphics could be a little better but I didn't really buy this for gaming, however if you do decide to game a bit it's playable except for high end modern games. Plays older games well.
Pros: Size - The size of this laptop is absolutely perfect. Not too big and not too small, really sleek design, and very light.
Summary: I know Acer E1 is light, slim, with long battery hours but all the Acer E1s on Amazon have no DVD drive and then I found this one in Walmart. When I received it I looked for the DVD drive immediately and I found it. Wow, I can't believe that this is true - Acer E1 with a DVD drive! This model doesn't have touch screen but who cares? I will only use touch screen on tablet and smart phones. I don't think it makes sense to use touch screen on either laptop or desktop.
