Great machine at fantastic price, permanently stuck at 2GB RAM

Amazon Customer, Amazon
22 September 2014
  • Summary: This is an awesome little machine for a great price. It's plenty fast as a Chromebook but you can't run Skype, Minecraft, Android apps, or even Linux (despite the shared platform) software. Naturally the first thing I did was install full Ubuntu Unity and get Skype going. But I didn't let the 32GB drive stop me there. I also have it downloading torrents, syncing some Dropbox files, making minor changes to Office documents (Libre), and even running Android Studio!

A Step in the Right Direction

Johnny Saigon®, Amazon
15 August 2014
  • Summary: Acer makes some very decent laptops, and this Chromebook is no exception. It's stylish just enough, very light at under 3 pounds, and has a decent screen that is bright and perfect for indoor use or in bed. Speed is really good - it ran all the apps without any hiccups, most notable the YouTube app in HD. The hard disk drive is very quick, being solid-state variety(SSD). 4GB of RAM is more than good enough for most usage.

Unbelievable machine, great refurb quality

Jonathan, Amazon
15 July 2014
  • Summary: I recommend this to anyone looking for a fast machine to do web browsing and some productivity. Assuming you know what a Chromebook is, you'll find this device to be extremely fast at tasks including web browsing and HD video playback, with a great keyboard and unbelievable trackpad. Touchscreen is very pleasant to use. The screen picture quality could be better - colors don't pop and it's only 720p, but the price savings have to come from somewhere.

Worked great At first, Not working at all now. :(

Virginia G., Amazon
25 March 2014
  • Summary: At first when I got this product in January of this year, it worked great, until about a week ago, when I closed the lid to put the computer into sleep mode, and when i tried to wake it back up, the device wouldn't power up at all and I had to ship it back to Acer to get it fixed, and will now be going without it for a few weeks.

Excellent little machine

Liyang , johnlewis.com

  • Summary: My old 13 inch VAIO is great but It's getting old and I wanted something smaller to suite my travel needs. Saw this machine in John Lewis last week and immediately I loved the styling and especially the colour so I purchased it. I knew very little about Chromebooks before but very quickly I got a hang of it (I am not a tech person). It's simply so much better easier and quicker than Windows and is especially good when I hate the Windows 8.
