Mouse pad is strange because the right and left click ...

Omar Manning, Amazon
6 January 2015
  • Summary: Mouse pad is strange because the right and left click are built in. Buy a mouse if you purchase this laptop. It has a "u" processor which is significantly slower than the regular mobile or desktop versions of the i5.. which most folks don't know. IE: A "u" i7 is not faster than a regular sized i5.

Got a V5-122P-0408 instead

R. Soto "416SPS", Amazon
29 July 2014
  • Summary: Not exactly what we ordered (got a V5-122P-0408) but we're making it work. Slim and relatively light. A little under powered at 1GHz. Good for the size. Back-light would've been nice (V5-122P-0857).

Refurbished isn't going to be the way for me in the future.

lisa, Amazon
30 January 2014
  • Summary: I bought this laptop for my son for christmas. He needed the AMD processor for some games and I wanted to keep the cost down as he is 8 so I bought refurbished. This computer had issues as soon as he started using it. 2 uSB didn't work. Battery barely stayed charged an hour. Screen would black out randomly and the powercord was not secure at all. I know not all refurbished items will have issues but this has left a bad impression on me.

Not thrilled....

Sue the business owner, Staples
3 January 2014
  • Excerpt: Overall disappointed. I didn't intend to get a touch screen. I needed to replace a laptop. I had a price, size and weight parameters. My local STAPLES is convenient with a great staff. The ASPIRE gets high ratings and the sale was right. I do not like the touchscreen. If your hand passes near it, it changes. The mousepad is erratic in the touch as well. We're all used to adapting to mousepads with little adjustment. Everyone that has used this laptop has a problem.
  • Pros: Good Value, Professional Weight, Sharp Tones & Colors
  • Cons: Touch Aspects Are Uneven, Win 8 Is Not Easy To Use

processing speed is slow

SC, Staples
2 January 2014
  • Excerpt: It is light weight. It has a touch screen and you can update the operating system to Windows 8.1. If you don't care about the speed of loading a web page, otherwise this is a good product.

Needs a DVD drive

Jim, Staples
5 December 2013
  • Excerpt: Should have a DVD drive. Didn't realize it lacked it until I opened package since I bought online. Had to buy an external drive in order to load my owned software. So far the performance is good. Liked the way it automatically allowed me to incorporate into my home network. It is a nice, light laptop with easy to use keyboard and software. I am new to Windows 8, so I had a little bit of difficulty navigating the screens.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Efficient
  • Cons: Difficult To Set Up, No Dvd
