Summary: Monitor is lousy. Out of the box tint was off colors way too vivid. After going through the menu several times and tweaking it they are somewhat better but still not good. Get yellowish look to some scenes especially outdoor scenes. The picture is too vivid bothering my eyes. Have had several different laptops over the years including two other Acers and never experienced this before. Need a way to decrease the color and soften the picture somewhat.
Pros: Like the design and keyboard.
Cons: Been getting some Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to shut down messages.
Summary: First and foremost the power button is on the left edge of the lop top instead of above the keyboard. This makes moving the machine a pain. It constantly gets turned off when I move it due to my hand going over the power button when I pick it up. The keyboard is LOUD, typing on this sounds like tap dancing on a wood floor. It comes with Windows 8 which is the most evil program ever.
An upgrade from my old netbook even though some features are added and some are missing

Summary: I purchased this netbook to replace an aging (and failing) Acer Aspire 1410, so my comments are relative to that older (same size) Acer netbook. Both have 11.6" screens. This newer netbook has no hard drive or network lights. This makes it a bit harder to subjectively gauge whether the system is actually working or not. I suspect that the hard drive is a bit slower as well (even though it is twice as large as the older netbook).
Summary: This is a relatively strong netbook for the cost, it runs programs well, has nice battery life, and is lightweight and portable. However, there are MAJOR issues with the touchpad which render the device nearly useless.
Summary: Cheaply made. It feels cheap, the keyboard is not very sensitive. The touchpad is clunky and not very responsive, the screen resolution is not very good either. Good battery life and lightweight. It is really thick around the battery.
Excerpt: this computer is very slow, slower than my kindle and is not able to handle most web sites. it freezes frequently . performance is less than satisfactory at best. don't feel it was worth the money, total waste.
Summary: This was just a slow computer. The typing for my schoolwork was slow, the characters came up 10 seconds after I typed them and most didn't show up at all. Also, the processor is slow. IE takes forever to load, it will take almost 30 seconds for any page to load, and it is just not good.
Summary: A lot of good comments from other customers. Overall, the i5 processor allows the computer to run relatively fast. I gave 2 star because I don't recommend it to other customers for three reasons: 1) the touchpad is very tardy, even after changing the setting to FAST mode. I used different brand of laptops, this is the worst touchpad I have ever used. 2) The screen is terrible. When I looked at it for about 10min, I felt hurts with my eye.
Summary: It was a neat touchscreen computer, but there are a couple things wrong with the item and description. The desciption states that it comes with a built in Smartcard Reader and it does not, it only comes with a SD media card reader. The computer screen is not for active people and is not made of Gorilla Glass, and upon any sort of impact the screen will instantly shatter into small shards of worthlessness.
