Summary: Within a couple months of buying this computer it started going nuts. Turning off all the time, needing to be updated ALL the time...as a student it drives me nuts cause I have lost work more times than I can count. The touch screen is crap.
Summary: We bought the Acer Aspire V5 for our son to use at school last year. 3 weeks ago, the hard disk crashed. We installed a new disk, then discovered Acer does not have a Win 8 download. We got a Win 8 install on a USB drive, only to find the Microsoft product key is on the hard disk that crashed.
Summary: This laptop sucks. I've had it for a year now, and it's given me nothing but problems. Within a week I was taking it into stores for help. I now wish I had just returned it. If I try installing anything it just slows the whole computer down and I spend more time waiting for things to load than...
Summary: I purchased this to use solely as a word processor. I cleared out all the bloatware and installed MS Word 2013. The 1GHz processor is impossibly slow and couldn't even handle a single document. As soon as I loaded a 50k word document, it crashed. Re-boot, opened Word, opened document, crash.
Summary: worked just OK for a few weeks, then noticed a big slowdown in processing speed....took to Best Buy Geeks and they said the processor shares with video or something like that and that slows it all down....now I'm past the 30 day to return deadline and I'm stuck with it....DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK !!!!
Excerpt: They need to have good tech support and don't. Having trouble setting up Accer ID. On-line support basically sucks. Try to get through to the call center is hard to do, especially for someone working during the day.
Excerpt: This laptop contains the vastly under-powered AMD A4 1250 processor. It is only dual core, and not up to snuff. I tried all sorts of tweaks to make it run faster. I deleted McAfee antivirus and eliminated all the factory installed bloatware. This allowed me to check email and surf the web.
Excerpt: I puchased this little computer because my old Acer was big and heavy. At the time that was exactly what I was looking for on a laptop but I've been traveling often recently and decided to purchase something lighter but with good screen clarity.
Pros: Bright, Durable, Good Value, Professional Weight, Sharp Tones & Colors
