Summary: I have had about 12 laptops. Dell, HP, Toshiba, etc. I thought it was time to downsize. I liked that it has all the specs my laptops have had (intel processor, 4GB memory and more). Mostly I was tired of lugging around 6 pounds. So far, all good with the Acer. Nice keyboard, good sound and no problems. Wait there is one, and this is something I will need to get used to. A very sensitive mouse pad. I always use two fingers and I can't do that with this notebook.
Summary: Computer is great . I updated to 8.1 with no problems . Make sure you have all upgrades before trying to update to 8.1 . I like the small form factor . Over all it is a good computer . Con My eyesight isn't good anymore . I couldn't set it large enough to suite me . I returned it for that reason . May try an I-Pad next ...
Summary: Easy as 1-2-3 to get going. Automatically connected to the Wi-Fi. Wireless mouse? Just plug and play. Installing MS Office was quick and painless too. Setup in just a few minutes. Great value for the price. I could not expect more from this laptop.
Summary: I have been trying to get this set up to work for me for 3 days. It is very unreliable Just when I think I have succeeded, it decides to not respond. I have run clean up, error check, defrag, and scan for virus twice (very time consuming. Numerous restarts. Cannot view my e-mail or even get on line most of the time. It is impossible to connect properly to my printer. Pretty much useless.
Summary: Most reliable computer I've had. This Acer has just been superb! I use Linuxmint as my OS, and usually I have to expel the Microsoft OS that comes with the computer. This is not always easy, as I found out with an Asus laptop which came with the original Windows-8 issue. With the Acer, the forcing out of the resident system, replacing that OS with Linuxmint was a piece of cake.
Summary: Works great. Small screen, but that's what I bought it for. Hook it up to a large screen when I need to. The only problem I have with this computer is the touch-pad doesn't work when hooked up to certain electric outlets (go figure why). I either switch outlets or hook up a wireless mouse. I love it, but not as much as I love my wife.

Summary: I purchased this computer because it came with windows 7. Just like all computers and computer programs that we get today, I had to take the time to remove all the extras that they try to force us to buy, by installing a trial program in the program file (which if you try it, you own it because if you try it you can never completely remove it) it is a great machine. Much faster than it's predecessor.
Summary: Bought this as a simple linux laptop, something more versatile than my Samsung chromebook running in developer mode. This Acer far exceeded my expectations. In case you haven't read already, the system comes with "Linpus" linux installed. Ubuntu 14.04 installed off a USB key without issue.
