Summary: This was a Christmas present and was doa. Acer tech support attitude was poor and was unable to get it to power up. It sounded like this was a common occurrence. Very disappointing experience never to be repeated.
Summary: I did not use this PC much, because I hated Windows 8.0. Windows 8.1 update made it a little more tolerable. And in less than one year of ownership in which it sat in disuse, it crashed (it does not even turn on). I own and still use two other Acer PCs, but this one disappointed me. No more Acer for me (I also vowed no more Sony PC, Toshiba PC, HP, Dell, ASUS), and no more Windows. I guess that leaves me with Apple only, which has not disappointed me yet.
Summary: I purchased this system and have had for nearly 7 months, it was replacing an earlier Aspire that I had for 3 years. This machine is okay but within the last month it has just started randomly rebooting which I feel is related to heat. My first Acer was extremely reliable this machine is not and I would not recommend buying it.
Summary: I initially loved this laptop, BUT, then the screen started to go blank without warning. It was returned for repair and subsequently sent back as 'REPAIRED - MAIN BOARD REPLACED'. First of all I doubt this happened I think they are just blowing smoke, now the same exact symptoms have reappeared, so obviously they didn't fix the problem. Now I have to return this unit again to be repaired (costing approximately $38 each time not counting packaging and time).
ISSUE WITH AMAZON ONLY; product is great. Need ATTENTION to Amazon's FALSE ADVERTISING

Summary: THe laptop itself is fine. I own the one with 12GB RAM, GTX 760M and BD drive, and love it. Bought this one for a friend for a new gamign laptop, and the 760M and 750M are negligibly the same. My BIG PROBLEM is with Amazon! BOTH laptops (9822, I believe) and this 9829 BOTH have "CineCrystal" in their description-- That's Acer's marketing for a GLOSSY screen. I have had a 720p Acer laptop with a glossy screen, and besides viewing angles, LOVED IT.
Summary: The computer worked perfectly. But when I try to get the update to windows 8.1 was when I realized that the license of Windows 8 that was pre-installed on my computer had an expiry date (January 26, 2014) and when I tried to validate the key the system throws me an error. Error code: 0x8007007B. Error description: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect. I can not use the computer, as I had to restore my system to factory default settings.
