Summary: For the price? Still the best value. It has small issues and it's not the prettiest computer out there but it definitely does it's job.
Pros: Lightning fast boot up with ssd
Cons: The screen is VERY blue tinted, it drove me crazy trying to correct it t first but I gave up and just got used to it. It's not really a gloss screen so it's not quite as sharp as say the HP Envy's radiant displays but it's serviceable.
Pros: Fast Core i7 CPU, 12GB RAM, 120GB SSD Drive plus 750GB Drive plus a third slot for another hard drive. GTX760M, full HD LED screen, etc. For what they are giving you, this is the best offer at this price point. I'm in the process of adding the third hard drive (1TB 7200RPM). I'm also adding an additional 4GB of RAM (yes, there's an empty slot) for a grand total of 16GB. No driver issues as others are reporting. As for gaming, I've only tried two games; Borderlands and...
Summary: For the person that is saying that there is driver issue on the wireless adapter, I have not encountered this at all. in fact its pretty straight up worked out of the box. did all updates necessary to update to Windows 8.1 and did the updates after that and everything is still working as it should.
Pros: just an addition to my review (4/24/2014)
Cons: hope there were light indicators to show capslock/num lock and scroll lock is active.
Summary: I've had this for around a month now and there's a couple things I do not like about it. The screen is not the same screen as in the description. It's matte, which is good for anti-glare but it just doesn't look that great in my opinion. The battery used to last around 2 and a half hours but now it lasts not even half that long on a full charge. I get around 1 hour now just from light to normal use, no gaming or anything heavy.
Pros: I bought this laptop so that I have a pc to use while I am here in a school and when I get deployed on sea duty since it's too much of a hassle carrying my desktop full of custom watercooling stuff in prodigy case and keyboard with monitor. just too much to carry all and I wouldnt have space for them.
Cons: no led light indicator to show if num/capslock/scroll lock is active. touchpad gets sketchy at times but I mainly use a gaming mouse anyways. positioning of ports are quite awkward.
Summary: We had the older 21" theatre format ASPIRE. UNFORTUNATELY THIS IS ABOUT THE BIGGEST ONE YOU CAN BUY NOW AND WHILE THE SCREEN IS NOT AS BIG, the new computer is better in every regard except for sound volume.
Summary: This is an excellent desktop replacement workhorse machine. The processor is excellent, ram adequate SSD + HDD is a fantastic combination, though i wish there was a way to automatically move the User Directory to the HDD and leave windows alone on the SSD. Nvidia Optimus is not a favourite of mine. I would have preferred if the GFX card was a stand alone nvidia without optimus.
Summary: I initially loved this laptop, BUT, then the screen started to go blank without warning. It was returned for repair and subsequently sent back as 'REPAIRED - MAIN BOARD REPLACED'. First of all I doubt this happened I think they are just blowing smoke, now the same exact symptoms have reappeared, so obviously they didn't fix the problem. Now I have to return this unit again to be repaired (costing approximately $38 each time not counting packaging and time).
