Summary: I named it B.A.M.F. for reasons you'll figure out soon after turning it on. This thing has some power. With the i7 and the Nvidia Grphx card it hauls some balls. I've been able to stream modern day games while using other apps with almost no lag to my viewers. I've read the reviews talking about screen issues and I'm crossing my fingers as I had not seen them prior to purchase.
Summary: I've bought 3 laptops in the last 5 years at about this price point. This is the newest and the slowest of the three. I'm not sure if it's Windows 8 or something else, but I'm very disappointed with this laptop. I think it has something to do with the Nvidia Optimus feature. I looked into disabling, and I don't think you can. I would NOT buy this laptop or any laptop with the Nvidia Optimus feature.
Acer tech support attitude was poor and was unable to get it to power up

Summary: This was a Christmas present and was doa. Acer tech support attitude was poor and was unable to get it to power up. It sounded like this was a common occurrence. Very disappointing experience never to be repeated.
Summary: It took a while to get used to, but I'm still not a fan of the keyboard. This is more of a personal preference I suppose. Keys are flat and stationed like Mac keyboards, and I don't care for such keyboards. Now if only I had the money for a better CPU.
Pros: Nice screen size--great for watching videos and playing games. Computer arrived reasonably fast. Decent price for the specifications. Satisfied with the service from NewEgg and AntOnline specifically.
Cons: The main problems I have are with certain hardware issues with the computer and the service from Acer themselves. I myself am a fan of Acer. However, when I received my computer, brand new, out of the box, I noticed a problem of multi-colored pixels flashing on the screen anytime I loaded a game (e.g. League of Legends, FFXIV). The problem was most likely either the graphics card or the motherboard. I installed the newest drivers and updated all relevant software and ...
Summary: For the price this is a great Laptop. 2 hard drive bays with 4 memory slots for expansions and mix and match. I have traveled quite a bit with this laptop and it is a little cumbersome even in a large Laptop backpack but is a great replacement for a desktop especially when travelling. I use it for Digital Forensic investigations and have never had any problems or needed more speed.
Pros: This is a great laptop for almost anything you could want to do. 12gb of RAM is enough for multi-tasking memory intensive programs. The combined 120gb SSD with 1TB HDD gives speed for OS load (12s) while giving the user tons of storage space. Memory can easily be upgraded to 16gb with 1 chip, 24gb with 2x8gb chips (using 2x4gb of existing chips) or to 32gb using 4x8gb chips (all new). Screen size is good. Keyboard is reactive with low-profile keys. Graphics through th...
Cons: Keybooard keys are slightly far apart. Touchpad is too sensitive, I deactivate it and use a mouse. Graphic card is good but not great. Averages around 25-35 fps in World of Tanks and some other games. Most games 35-60fps.
Summary: Downside is that it came with a dead pixel almost in the dead center of the screen, so I returned the laptop and got another one, and it also has a dead pixel but near the upper left corner. So I keep the second laptop, shame that both laptops had a bad pixel.
