Summary: Great Laptop for its price, Gtx 760 allows you to play almost all games in high settings. I played Assassins creed 4 on high and it was beautiful with no stuttering at all; once i tried it on ultra settings however it started stuttering a bit but no that bad. The SSD makes the computer extremely fast that windows literally starts up in exactly 4 seconds (i counted). of course windows 8 ruins it a little but its not that bad. here are a quick brief on cons and pros.
Summary: Even though classified as a "Gaming" laptop, this model certainly lacks many features found in other higher priced competitors (lit-up keyboard, better sound system, better cooling solution, better body material). However this shortcoming is also its greatest strength; you get decent performance and spec with much cheaper price, compared to models of similar setup.
Pros: Great price/performance ratio, Low fan noise even at mid-high load
Cons: Very small arrow keys, Lack of Caplock/Numlock indicators, Surface comprised mostly of plastic, Original hard drive is slow
Summary: This is one of the best laptops you could find on the market with this price tag(999$) and the laptop is quite impressive.I had my doubts about this laptop before buying it due to acers negative image but so far i love it. GTX 760,i7 and 120 GB SSD. Cons : -Unlike the description laptop has a ComfyView not Cane crystal but still its a gorgeous 17.3 1080p display -Windows 8 and yes its that bad I cant say much about this laptop since i just bought it but i will write a...
Summary: Know this though... It is full of bloatware. Acer is really starting to suck but since it is easy to remove I won't dock a point. You will never be able to install any linux system. Bill Gates made sure of that by requiring all new computers sold with Win 8 will have this new type of BIOS will allows only one OS and since Windows has been installed nothing else can be installed. There might be a few out there where you can disable the new secure boot but this is not one.
Summary: Great laptop with great gaming performance and also cheap in gaming laptop range. Fast but I don't like the fact that touchpad on laptop sucks very much but I am using mouse all the time so no difficulties.
Summary: I needed a laptop for home as a desktop replacement primarily for software development. Narrowed on this Acer for the followings reasons: 1. Upto 32GB memory. HPs and Dells of similar class that I checked would not go beyond 16GB. I needed more memory to run multiple VMs. 2. Solid keyboard. Best/sturdy keyboard in this class. 3. Crisp and sharp HD display. 4. Slot for SSD drive. HPs/Dells of similar class did not offer this. The ones that offered were expensive. 5.
Summary: Since the Samsung NC-10 netbook I purchased about 4-5 years ago was struggling to perform even the most basic tasks, I decided a new laptop was in order. I compared quite a few makes and models before deciding on the Aspire, which provided one of the best feature-to-cost ratios of the lot. I've had it for around 2 months now and I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase. PRO: -Screen size.
