Garbage build quality
3 May 2012
Summary: After owning this laptop for almost two years it's still plenty speedy but the terrible build quality has really started to bug me. Things that broke: Keyboard stopped working (out of warranty) and had to be replaced The clips that hold the screen bezel in place are broken (it's now held in place with tape). Might have happened during a warranty repair. The clips that hold the front aluminum panel are broken (now held with tape).
Summary: Today I am sadly returning my beautiful little Acer. This sleek laptop was so pretty and slim and had an AMAZING battery. I loved how it would start up so quickly. But I am forced to admit that I have to give up on it. In the 13 days that I've had it, it has frozen once and blue screened once. Each occurrance required a hard shut down. When it froze, ctrl-alt-delete did not work. I was amazed. Instead a box popped up informing me that it wasn't functioning at the time.
Summary: Just received this laptop today and I have to say it was a huge disappointment for me. I decided to return this laptop just after half an hour of its arrival. The main reason is because of the screen display. Maybe I'm too used to my 23" Samsung SyncMaster XL2370 monitor which has the contrast ratio of 1000:1. But I think this laptop's display is still below average compared to other laptops available on the market.
