Summary: The computer worked fine while under warranty. However, after 1.5 years the motherboard gave out on it and it will no longer power up. Replacing the motherboard is a $400 adventure....time for a new computer. You can bet it will not be a Acer. I am not exceptionally hard on my electronics and expect them to last about 4-5 years not 1.5!
Summary: After 20 years of buying computer and computer products this is hands down the worse and most loathsome experience. I purchased the Acer Aspire TimelineX after several weeks of research for the best laptop in the $600-800 price range. When it arrived I thought I had found the perfect computer. Then 3 months later, the laptop wouldn't turn on. I tried all the tricks but none worked. I spent 3 hours on hold or fighting through the Acer customer service phone tree.
Summary: I wish I could give ZERO star to Acer. I bought this PC in March 2011. After a few months, I had to send the computer to Acer four times for repairs. The problem has always been the same: system freezes on startup, and often while using the computer.... usually on the 2nd or 3rd day after completing various Microsoft Updates. First they replaced the harddrive. The computer continued to freeze at every start up. The second time, they replaced the memory.
Summary: I have the 13.3 in version of this laptop and am repeating my review of it as a warning to whoever is considering giving money to acer ========================================================================================================= The form factor is great and they are not lying about the battery life. Unfortunately I had to send my Acer laptop to be fixed within a week of receiving it. I have now sent it in 3 times and am fed up with Acer.
Summary: I purchased this computer after much shopping around, it seemed to have everything. One thing was the promise of great sound. When I received the laptop, I was very disappointed, very little coming out of the speakers. I called Acer, they told me it was a software problem, and for $169.00, they would install Windows Essentials, a free program and reinstall the sound drivers.
Summary: Be aware that Acer offers abysmal support for its products in the UK -- NO TOLL-FREE number, limited hours and horrible support website with outdated drivers. I wish I never bought an Acer laptop.

Summary: Je l'ai acheté le 17 juillet 2010 et ramené le 27 juillet 2010 ! L'écran avait comme de l'encre qui coulait, et d'un seul coup en plus ! Acer se couvre sur le revendeur et bilan je vais aller au procés pour obtenir la garantie Vice caché ou défaut de fabrication. Donc soit c'est ma série qui est défectueuse soit je ne sais pas mais en 10 jours un écran ne foire pas comme ça sans choc, ni coup ni rien ! Donc voilà pour mon avis personnel !
Pros: en seulement 10 jours d'utilisation aucun .
Cons: écran qui casse tout seul au bout de 10 jours ! ! !
