Great little laptop - portable when I need to lug around for on call on weekends

Summary: I have to have a laptop with me always, if call comes in from work even nights and weekends. So when going out to dinner I just grab this little Aspire to stick in the car in case its needed. Fits well in my briefcase for airline trips as well. I replaced the harddrive with a SSD drive (good instructions can be found previously posted by other reviewers). So made it an "ultrabook" (well, sorta) with just a $150 SSD and a $17 CD with transfer cable.
Summary: I've had this laptop for over 1.5 years. The motherboard died 2 days before warranty ran out, ACER fixed it in about 2 weeks at no cost. I'm sure it would have been quite expensive if it died out of warranty. I did three upgrades: 8GB of RAM, 128GB SSD, and 5GHz capable 802.11n wifi card. Works perfectly so far. I looked into getting a 9-cell battery, but honestly, I can get almost a full day of battery life out of it, so there's no need.
Summary: This is a fantastic machine. Fast, small, lots of memory, light weight, great resolution and all around handles all my needs. I use it for MS office, Photoshop, AutoCad, even Revit. The best part, is it fits in my shoulder bag and weight almost nothing... Oh and it costs less than 1/2 of an apple equivalent.
Summary: The machine is in working condition but two of the USB ports are physically damaged and therefor unusable. This should not happen with a NEW piece of equipment. I found out from the sender that the machine does not have any warranty, which is also strange for a NEW machine. The sender told me to use the extra warranty which I had purchased (Square Trade). They obviously don't stand behind their product, which is a shame, and I will never order from them again.
Summary: I chose this laptop for its ultra-portable-like specifics and its almost-netbook-like price, as I need a travel companion for working in mobility on Office applications and web developement. After one year of usage I can say that this Acer is amazing! it has enough cpu power to flawlessly run a virtual machine to have a linux server onboard for development of web applications.
Summary: This is one sweet little ultra compact laptop. Dropped in a SSD and it boots fully into windows in under 20 seconds. The size and weight are perfect for one handing it where ever you need to go.
Summary: Got this for about a week now, as a college student, the light weight at 3 lbs (lighter than my lightest text book) is great along with some good processing power. Did some hd video editing that really pushed the cpu to its limits, but didn't over heat or crashed as my previous machine. Handles multiple tasks at once nicely. The screen is awesome, though have yet to see any dead pixels (just hope I don't jinx it) and with 3 usb ports, it meets all my everyday needs.
Summary: I looked for a compact laptop, which can be used for software development, used to have a lenovo i7 before, which was good but very heavy. I found this laptop at a very reasonable price and ordered 2 of them for my company. That was a great choice, immediately as it arrived i removed the 4GB and put 8GB of RAM instead, and I use it as a heavy development station, with Java, web, huge number of windows and browsers open, running a database web server (Xampp) and also...
Summary: I have had this same laptop for over a year and just bought another one for my dad. The fact that I purchased another one should say it all. I just wish this one had a built-in aircard, but other than that, I'm pretty happy with it.
Summary: Length:: 9:53 Mins I'm a photojournalist who looked long and hard to find a new laptop. I need a computer I can leave in the car trunk or carry in a fanny pack while shooting assignments, so it has to be tough, compact and powerful. The Acer Aspire TimelineX AS1830T-68U118 solved the problem of cramming near-desktop power into a Netbook-sized package. I've only had it for a few weeks, but here are my impressions: EXTERIOR: 1. Not as pretty as a Macbook Air, but what is?
