Nice looking, strong battery life; touchpad ruins the experience.
D. C., Amazon
5 November 2013
Summary: Windows 7 and long battery life were important to me. I think the laptop looks nice too, despite the all plastic construction. The body's combination of dark matt and gloss will likely collect finger prints over time, though it does sleek.
Summary: Although I am a member of Amazon Prime scheme, the item didn't arrive on the next working day. Touchscreen is responsive enough but not sharp, bright and crisp enough. Keys are good and easy to type. Touchpad seems to work fine for me.
Summary: The trackpad is extremely sensitive and also my product was defective. After a couple of months one of the two hinges broke. Fixing this problem was not included in the product warranty and acer service support is awful.
Summary: Truly disappointed with overall behavior. May be usual Windows 8,incompetence. Poor WiFi and erratic Windows 8 behaviour. May be Windows 8 does not handle the hardware well . Would return if I could but I guess will have to spend days sorting something that I should not need to.
Summary: Just received this today and began to set-up windows 8. As I was trying to get my account sorted I realised some of the keys had to be pressed multiple times before they registered, this quickly devolved into some keys (The A, 1, Tab and caps lock keys) not working at all.
Summary: Update Nov 15 2013: Changed rating from one star to two. See comment below. Original review: When I bought this it had Windows 7 pre-installed. I tested it for about an hour, and except for a buzzing noise it seemed to work okay, albeit slow.
Summary: Bought this laptop as an upgrade from windows vista. Laptop never shuts down properly and in the end you have to press the powerr button to turn off, very slow even with upgraded 10mb ram and dedicated ssd. Very disappointed.
Summary: I'd bought an Acer laptop before and been happy with it, but this netbook has some extraordinarily bad design choices and at least one serious flaw. The flaw is that the sound doesn't work when headphones are plugged in.
