Summary: This must be the worst laptop I´ve ever bought... and I´ve bought 9. Since the beginning there have been CONTINUAL problems with the DVD disappearing and the HDMI not working. Checking the internet I find that there are MANY MANY users with the same problems. Attempts to communicate with Acer for support receives NO RESPONSE. There are no good drivers available to attempt to solve the problems. The battery life starts off at around 6 hours - not the 8 hour spec ..
Pros: Not very much at all
Cons: DVD keeps disappearing, HDMI doesn´t work, Good driver updates not available, NO SUPPORT FROM ACER
Summary: Having tried many laptops, including certain more "recommanded" ones, I can say performance wise and price make this one a winner. The system is very stable, runs extremely cool, very light, thin and polished, with a very discreet business laptop appeal. Despite the claims that the screen does not open very far, I can assure you I have never found this to be a problem because the screen opens far enough.
Summary: This new laptop has put my older computer into the background which will of course soon make it redundant although that was not my original plan. Faster more user friendly long battery life etc etc. My new "Acer" was a gift from my family (two of whom already have one!)and is the best birthday present ever .
Summary: Excellent laptop for the price, and no problems whatsoever. I was a bit wary about buying it as I'd read reviews which said it kept freezing (I think due to a combination of power settings and Vista), but no problems with Windows 7. Runs quickly, and is lightweight yet has a disc drive, so I'm happy. Have to say though I did buy it thinking it was black, but it's actually got a darksih grey matte lid.
Summary: Purchased 2 weeks ago. On 2 occasions I have have been unable to start up the computer becuase of failure to recognise my use logon profile. This meant delivering one talk from memory using a flip chart. There is no explanation for this to my knowledge, but it has happened a second time. Maybe a Windows 7 software problem but from my point of view a total disaster.
Summary: I've had this laptop for just under a year and to date I am very pleased with it. The laptop is very thin and light and therefore extremely easy to carry around. The battery life is fantastic. It easily lasts 5 or 6 hours and can go up to around 8, depending on what you're doing on it. Another bonus is that it never gets hot.
Summary: Actually the model we have is a 4810tzg (z being win7 and g being graphics card version rather than integrated) Lovely screen, no problems conecting, lightweight and does not get too hot. Acer support really helpful too.
Pros: compact size and lovely screen
Cons: battery life in real world about 6 hours not 8
Summary: I bought this laptop a little over 2 months ago and it is really a great buy. I wanted something portable, but with enough power for business applications and it fills both requirements perfectly. It also looks good, which is not something I expected, but was pleasantly surprised with. I had done a lot of research before buying and liked the battery life, the low weight and the performance - all of which exceed my expectations.
Excerpt: "Hello I bought this laptop last Christmas from Dixon. I paid just under £400 for it and I have been very happy with its performance. The things I like most of this laptop is: -Amazing battery life. It says it lasts upto 8 hrs, from my experience, I use it to surf the net and listening to music at the same time. It could last around 6 hrs. Not bad for the laptop - It is very sleek and stylish. Its 14" screen is perfect for working on documents and ...
Summary: After three decades of Dell laptops, I took the leap and ordered this laptop with the turn of the new year and have I been very pleasantly surprised. Other than the touchpad which could do with a little work, this is ONE GREAT LAPTOP and no one is paying me to say this!
