Summary: Ok so the pros of this machine are that it is light, it is fast and it has a nice screen with a touch screen which is pretty cool. Beyond that it drives me nuts. I think most of the issues are Windows 8 related, however there are some that are just bad design. 1. THE KEYBOARD IS AWFUL! it is so hard to type on the keys are oddly colored and kind of hard to read if you aren't in ideal lighting conditions, even with the backlight.
Summary: Before you buy the Acer Aspire S7, research a few issues -- Low Memory - this is a daily issue! I cannot have more than one app open at a time. Forget having Photoshop and a web browser open at the same time. No Bootable Disk - I have had this scary crash twice now where the machine does not want to recover. After much messing around and hard resetting and battery resets I have been able to get it back up and running, but I fear for the hard drive.
Summary: I was very excited to purchase this ultrabook..... once I received it the experience has continued downhill. The machine looks great but it is slow AND the Acer S7 power turns OFF unexpectedly with NO warning. This happens repeatedly every minute sometimes BUT other times works fine for days. When not working, it is VERY disruptive and unreliable. I explained this to Acer and was told to send it to them. I did this and paid much for shipping....they had it for 10 days.
Summary: This is a great computer. Fast, light and beautifful machine, only concern is about the battery, it doesn't last as long as expected, I woul say about 4 hours of normal use (internet and streamming mixed), wich is not bad but not the top either, The touch screem adds a lot to the windows 8 system. I have seen some people telleng that hey have expeienced some troubles with the touch pad, mine works great.
Summary: I originally wanted to purchase a cheap ultrabook (under $500) because I would mainly being using it for school but, I saw this deal and couldn't pass it up! The quality of the device is very good and the processing speed is very quick. The backlit keyboard is awesome and the screen is so vibrant and crisp! Windows 8 takes time to get used to and the battery isn't the best (I chose weight over battery and I knew it would be just ok).
