Wennie, Amazon
4 July 2014
  • Summary: I have had this for a little over a year, and it still works nicely and fast. Pros: - It runs Ubuntu nicely, though the disk is partitioned strangely (granted this was the first time I attempted changing operating systems) - It's so thin and light that other laptops feel like bricks - Load and...

My second Acer

Serhiy Mykhalchenko "serj.888", Amazon
29 March 2014
  • Summary: I had a cheap 11.6 inch plastic Acer for 3 years. It worked very well and lasted. I had Acer s5 for half year and paint peals off. This should be really embarrassing for Acer. Screen is cheap and grainy. Otherwise, laptop does its job, boots fast, good battery life.

Touch Pad Is Very Exasperaring

James Lange, Amazon
5 March 2014
  • Summary: This notebook is sooo annoying. The touch pad seems to have a mind of its own. It works OK for a few minutes after start-up, but quickly becomes "cranky" & jumpy. It is very annoying to work with for very long.

A really nice computer.

Soren DK, Amazon
20 January 2014
  • Summary: I got a bargain on this computer (not on Amazon though) but at first I was a bit worried with all the mediocre reviews it had recieved online. It turned out that I had nothing to worry about and again it proves that the internet experts are not always experts.

AC adaptor died after 4 months. Acer service SUCKED!

Magician's mom, Amazon
7 January 2014
  • Summary: Positive points: The laptop worked well, was light, and fast. And the negatives: - Even as a brand new laptop, it would sometimes refuse to turn on (motherboard problem?). Not what you expect of a new laptop. - The AC adaptor died after 4 months of use. But this is not the worst part!

Daniel Rodríguez, Amazon

  • Summary: The product say it was refurbished, but as good as new, so I bought it, but I received it with the following labels: - One saying "SELL AS DEFECTIVE" [...] - Another saying "Defective, unit won't boot up" [...] I tried turning it on and it didn't.

Works well for warranted period

Susan, Amazon
9 December 2013
  • Summary: Have had this for just over a year and the touchpad and keyboard have gone wacky. I contacted Acer and as it is now out of warranty would be a minimum $250.00 charge. I called a local computer repair place who basically said to try to get my with using a mouse as it was not worth the cost to repair.
