Summary: The start up and usage instructions could fit on sticky note. The mouse clickers are on the edge of the computer which makes it awkward to use. It's ok for a back up computer. It's not that I wouldn't recommend the Acer 10.1 Aspire One. If you can afford something a little better, go for the better.
Summary: Purchased this for my son's 10th birthday. Thought it would have enough power to run MS Office products for his school work and allow him to play games (online only). Once we turned it on, we realized that it runs a stripped down version of Windows 7 that was not compatible with the MS Office suite we bought; so we had to buy Windows 7 full version (~$80). The computer still runs frustratingly slow and I am not tech-savvy enough to replace the RAM card myself.
Summary: Says you can burn recovery disks, but you need to purchase a external USB cd/dvd drive as it has no drives except the SD card slot. Screen too small. basically a waste of money. Buy a used or refurbished laptop if you can only spend $250.00. I will be returning this item to WalMart.
Summary: I had an Acer laptop, which was a good bit of kit. The Acer brand made my mind up for me when I decided to buy a netbook. Oh dear... First of all, its1G memory and Windows 7 Starter are useless. There's so much wrong with Windows 7 Starter. Then, before I'd had it for even a week the screen developed a fault, which meant it had to be returned for repair - a huge pain in the arse as the vendor mucked me about for a week before agreeing to fix it.
Summary: This is almost a good product but I've had a few problems and have been left dissatisfied with after-sales service. The computer runs slowly, suggesting as other reviewers have said, that 2GB would be the mininmum requirement. Also, the battery drains completely within a few days when it's not even being used, despite the bold and misleading claims about the battery's strengths. My particular netbook had a squeaky keyboard.
Summary: I purchased this notebook to program AP's, I.P cameras, and general web use. The problem with the device is the poor battery life, just over 2 hours, and inability to change the screen view, dull and very boring, and the time it takes to load websites, quite slow. It ships with Windows 7 BASIC so you have to upgrade to make any changes to the display. I could have purchased a different make of notebook, for the same money, with Windows 7 home premium.
Summary: This little net book is sturdy and easy to use but I really find it too slow even when running only one programme at a time, such as word. If I had 'played' with it sooner, rather than waiting until I had documents to write, I would have returned it post haste.
