Summary: This is, without a doubt, the slowest laptop/netbook I have ever used. Despite a 1.6 ghz processor and 1G memory, it barely moves. Even after disabling most background programs, it still crawls. Watching videos is basically impossible, and navigating the internet is excruciatingly slow. Even opening and using basic programs is slow. My daughter is unable to use her very basic graphics program on it. Don't ever buy this netbook!!
Acer Aspire ONE D260-2Dkk: I think my netbook's Ace-r!
8 October 2013
Summary: I already owned a laptop, which I sometimes took to work for personal use but which practically filled my workbag and was quite heavy, so I bought this netbook to fill that particular role. I liked the sound of it's dimensions, and my needs were pretty limited really - Office applications and wireless Internet access pretty much covers them!
Pros: Decent sized keyboard, good performance, good battery life, good value for its price, sleek feel
Cons: Obvious potential shortcomings for some in terms of physical size of the screen and keyboard
Summary: Hard drive broke down 11 months after purchase, despite only moderate use. When returned from repair, still would not boot up. Currently trying to do a restore process. Have lost all confidence in this product.
Summary: This is a really great little netbook. It has a very functional sized keyboard - unlike some other netbooks which I have used previously. Although the description of "full sized" which was advertised when I bought it was quite misleading as the keys are closer together if not marginally smaller.
Pros: light, fast, fantastic value
Cons: speakers aren't great, though headphones are fine
Summary: I bought this in preference to spending 600 quid on a fancy phone. With a full(ish) sized keyboard and a Windows 7 suite that after a few surfs has all of the cut down versions of Office it's quite quickly a remarkably good laptop, never mind notebook. You know your own computer preferences & requirements so heres a few observed pros and cons after 6mths of use: Good points: 1. Although you can't 'play games' you can do almost anything else without significant slowdown.
Summary: I bought this to compliment the desk top and have been delighted with it. Like all netbooks it is a bit slow but no problems surfing the web, emails and office tasks. Syncronised with HTC phone easily. Excellant for portability and ease of use.
