Summary: Just got this laptop after reading the reviews for a basic laptop my son to use for school and it came with no manual and will not connect to any wireless network Even though wireless is enabled. Multiple searches on how to fix this problem indicate this may be a hardware issue with the WLAN device. Way too much time spent on this problem And very disappointing.
Summary: Of course, I am like almost everyone else-I have already learned to hate Win 8. Tiles may be okay on a tablet but on a work machine, they are a pain. Fortunately, you can get free traditional start menu programs (Just Google "Start Menu for Win 8) which are far easier to work with. As for the computer itself-boot is slow along with slow loading programs. Probably another Win 8 problem-simply too much resources dedicated to the painful tablet style interface.
Summary: Everything works great on this computer, except the touchpad mouse. It presents so many different errors while using it...not errors like driver errors, but errors like not recognizing touch or, especially, over-recognizing our touch and clicks. At first I thought it was just me, as I've always used a USB mouse for my office laptop...so my touchpad experience was limited..
Summary: I read many of the reviews on this computer before buying, I also watched videos on YouTube. Despite all of the negatives I read, I decided to take a chance anyway. It was a mistake. I quickly discovered that this was just NOT the computer for me. I do agree with all of the Windows 8 comments. But beside that, I was not impressed with the touch pad....worst I've ever used out of any laptop.
Summary: We purchased this net-book so my wife could use it for surfing the Internet and check email. Three months later the keyboard suddenly stopped working. Acer repaired and returned the unit under warranty but it was a real struggle to get them to acknowledge it was a warranty issue. Then a few weeks after we got it back the screen just cracked while she was typing an email. Screen is shot and this time Acer refuses to repair. Acer does not warranty the LCD glass.
Summary: Like so many others I don't know if it is Windows 8 or the computer, but I am constantly unable to get to the Internet when all of our other laptops and desktops can. It is horribly slow to boot up. I am at the point of trying to put Windows 7 on it. Very disappointed in it.
Summary: I bought this computer as an ancillary work computer. It only needed to run one program. It runs as fast (SLOW) as a laptop I have had for about 7 years. The trackpad is terribly unresponsive, even with the speed settings turned all the way up. It constantly dropped the internet connection when all other devices were connected no problem. This was the final straw and I returned the item.
Summary: What a piece of junk. The touchpad is so overly sensitive that the slightest touch sends the window to another screen without any seeming logic. This computer won't operate up to speed unless it's plugged in. On battery alone it's like a snail. The first one I ordered was even worse so I returned it & ordered a replacement. After the replacement was nearly as bad, I gave up. Steer clear!
