Summary: I bought two acers a couple of years ago from Wal-Mart. Both had problems and would freeze up after a half hour or so. After reading several other complaints about acer, I called support and got a run around and no satisfaction. I decided never to buy another acer. Recently I received an e-mail about a law suit against acer and in the e-mail, it mentioned a disk that would fix the problem.
Summary: great battery life. horribly slow computer. has windows vista which should be avoided at all costs. we own over 10 similar acer's and this by far is the worst one. no others have vista, and they have more ram and more processing speed. this one will be relegated to use as a charger for our other real computers, since acer does not make a charger for these aspire one machines.
Summary: First i would like to state what i enjoyed in this laptop. First the screen is nice, good webcam (when it works, more in cons), and has a good size hard drive, but thats where it ends. Cons: Worst of all it freezes! constantly, iv searched high and low for a cure, but every remedy is different, iv spent hours on blogs reading what can be done to no avail. I froze 2 days after i got it, now it freezes up to 5 times a day randomly.
Summary: Its a lightweight, comfortable netbook with a great full size keyboard. The only major con is that it freeze up on a random yet frequent basis. I've checked online and there seems to be hundreds (!) of users suffering from this problem. My advice is not to take the risk.
I was sent a used computer with a different operating system-- not what I ordered.

Summary: I can't believe I've been asked to review this! I never got what I ordered! The computer was sold as new yet the box I did get had been opened, Vista had been replaced with Ubuntu, and there were even hand prints on the laptop case. All this despite printed matter on the box wrongly confirming specifications I ordered but didn't receive.
Summary: Initially I really loved this netbook but I have since experienced random system freezes which have gone unresolved by Acer. The system has been back to Acer twice I can cite numerous complaints about their customer service. They use really flimsy packaging when they send it back.I have found quite a number of others who are experiencing the same problems as me on the [@]. I don't believe my experiences are isolated.
Summary: This thing is terrible. I needed it only for light word processing (paper writing, the odd Excel spreadsheet) and net surfing, and I thought that it would be perfect - light enough to carry easily, enough RAM to be able to do what I needed in spite of Vista, good screen size. What I got instead is so slow as to be almost unusable for my needs.
Summary: Bought one of these at Costco. Initially the wireless networking was very sluggish, and the system locked up frequently - requiring a power off and reboot. A visit to Acer's website yielded lots of new drivers and a new BIOS. After installing these the networking was much improved, but the system continued to lock up on a regular basis. After a couple of days we gave up and returned it.
