Acer Aspire One 533

Hank H, CNET
8 March 2011
  • Summary: I like it. It is and does what it says that it is and will. It is a handy, little, light weight, Internet access device & I love the AC plug that I can rotate 90 degrees to assist with quick and easy plug-in at a variety of locations. I bought it for 11,000 rubles in Russia, about $350.00 so the price was right.
  • Pros: Little, light, fast access to the Net.
  • Cons: Not much yet.

A bit slow, but ok

MisterC, Amazon
20 May 2013
  • Summary: Ok, so there's no surprises that given its spec this unit is a bit on the slow side - but it does all I ask of it (eventually) and is a good inexpensive, compact, portable option if you want pc-type applications that aren't available on a tablet or if you need a good amount of storage onboard. Now, I chose this unit over other more recent models as I wanted to stay with Windows 7.

Acer Aspire one533

  • Excerpt: in my own opinion, there are a lot of products with the same features but at a cheaper price. this is a rip off. however this is as good a product as those available in its category. One of the main draws of netbooks is their compact size and featherlight weight, this makes it perfect to slip into a bag or rucksack and take on a trip. Combined with the low cost, this makes them great secondary or backup machines.
  • Pros: slim and light weight, fast, modern, robust
  • Cons: not available in multiple colours

Great Netbook

Tiemaster, Amazon
9 May 2012
  • Summary: I travel a lot and do not want to take my macbook everywhere with me for fear of it getting damaged. This does the trick though and for the price I cannot complain as it has served me well so far, if I was feeling flush I would probably make an upgrade to an I-pad though.

Impressive Netbook.

Mischiefy, Amazon
16 October 2011
  • Summary: I am travelling around Europe and this purchase has been the best thing I ever did. It is light weight and so easy to carry. The Wifi allows me to connect anywhere including on ferries. The 10 hour battery life means I am not for ever charging it. It looks great and am yet to try the webcam but so far I have been impressed. Furthermore allows me to download my photos every night without having to fuss with extra connections as it has a memmory card reader.

  • Excerpt: If you're looking for a truly portable, speedy and reliable netbook, the acer aspire one comes highly recommended. Since the recent introduction of netbooks, there has been a spike in the number of models and brands available. Choice is always a wonderful thing, but the Acer Aspire One has always been, and continues to be, a fantastic netbook with all of the features one would expect.
  • Pros: Light, portable but sturdy, great for everyday computing and taking to campus
  • Cons: Not suitable for heavy - duty computing tasks, eg .  gaming

10 June 2011
  • Summary: I own this and matter-fact typing right from it. I have no issue with this netbook however I have upgraded this little red beauty from Windows 7Starter to Windows 7Ultimate in less than a week and can use my OneNote and even Photoshop CS5! However I am a power user and would like to upgrade the RAM once more as I have upgraded the RAM from 1GB to 2GB DDR3 RAM and today I have found out that Samsung is finally going to sell their Samsung's 30nm DDR3 DRAM for $30 -55-110...
  • Pros: Everything
  • Cons: As power user I would like more Power of-course
