Excerpt: I bought this in a pinch, to quickly replace a 1 year old Toshiba laptop that stopped working. I have been much more satisfied with it than I was with the full laptop I had! Its light, and easy to carry with me. This was very important to me, I hated needing a separate laptop bag and to be so careful about transporting it and this one fits easily into a small tote bag and Ive taken it on vacations with no problem - and no worry about leaving it behind or alerting thieves...
Excerpt: The smaller size of the netbook can be a challenge for some users that prefer the larger size of a laptop or desktop computer. However, the compact size of the netbook makes it easy to transport for travel. The "mousepad" of the netbook can prove to be a little of a challenge to use. The design of the buttons and the pad isn't ideal. The netbook appears to hold a charge for longer than my regular size laptop.
Excerpt: Recently purchased the Acer Aspire netbook due to my other computer went down. At first I was not sure about such a small computer. Thought it wouldn't perform like a notebook but I can saw that the only difference is that besides being smaller the only thing that is differant is that the Acer Aspire netbook is that it doesn' have a CD drive ( but none of the other net books I looked at did either).
Excerpt: My daughter purchased this for herself to have a laptop available to her for school etc. Overall it is a pretty decent little laptop, but it is small. I tried using it and found the keyboard a bit difficult to use because of the size. I definitely wouldn't recommend it to a guy! I think they would definitely have trouble with the keyboard sizing. It was very easy to get set up and running and didn't have any trouble getting it going. The graphics were beautiful and...
Excerpt: I needed a laptop that I could travel back and forth to school with. This Acer netbook was perfect for my situation. It is light and durable, so it can handle the commute. The best part is the price.. It was rather cheap, which is perfect for a college student. There are a few downfalls with this product: 1. The battery life is pretty bad. I fully charge the netbook, yet it will die within 3 hours. The best way to fix this problem would be to buy a new battery. 2.
Excerpt: I purchased this netbook to set on my fireplace mantle, hooked it up to my flat screen TV, and now we watch Netflix movies on it. It works great and is very easy to use. It loads up quickly and was very inexpensive, $249 at Walmart.com.
Excerpt: "in my own opinion, there are a lot of products with the same features but at a cheaper price. this is a rip off. however this is as good a product as those available in its category. One of the main draws of netbooks is their compact size and featherlight weight, this makes it perfect to slip into a bag or rucksack and take on a trip. Combined with the low cost, this makes them great secondary or backup machines. The only casualties of the reduced ...
Summary: I travel a lot and do not want to take my macbook everywhere with me for fear of it getting damaged. This does the trick though and for the price I cannot complain as it has served me well so far, if I was feeling flush I would probably make an upgrade to an I-pad though.
Acer Aspire One - great value for money, speed and portability

Excerpt: "...speedy and reliable netbook, the acer aspire one comes highly recommended. Since the recent introduction of netbooks, there has been a spike in the number of models and brands available. Choice is always a wonderful thing, but the Acer Aspire One has always been, and continues to be, a fantastic netbook with all of the features one would expect. Being a student, value for money is one of the most important things to me and this netbook certainly offers ...
Pros: Light, portable but sturdy, great for everyday computing and taking to campus
Cons: Not suitable for heavy - duty computing tasks, eg . gaming
Summary: I own this and matter-fact typing right from it. I have no issue with this netbook however I have upgraded this little red beauty from Windows 7Starter to Windows 7Ultimate in less than a week and can use my OneNote and even Photoshop CS5! However I am a power user and would like to upgrade the RAM once more as I have upgraded the RAM from 1GB to 2GB DDR3 RAM and today I have found out that Samsung is finally going to sell their Samsung's 30nm DDR3 DRAM for $30 -55-110...
Cons: As power user I would like more Power of-course
