Hard drive went pretty quickly

  • Excerpt: I bought the Acer laptop for my daughter and one for my husband. I have had to send both back for repair within the first year of purchase. They both needed the hard drive replaced. I thought I was getting a deal but I guess it's like that old saying that goes "You get what you pay for". I have to say that if it were not for the hard drive problems I had I would have been very happy with it. I love the size and it's very easy to travel with.

Hated it. Not worth it.

  • Excerpt: I guess it was expected that Netbooks would run a lot slower than normal computers, but this one goes slow as hell! Netbooks are used for surfing the internet and writing Microsoft Word documents. That's all I do! All of my things were saved on a flash drive and still this thing ran like 90% of the computer had virus! I had it for three months before returning it and I'm telling you not to waste your time on anything ACER or anything that is smaller than an ACER Netbook.

  • Summary: I bought this laptop a year and a half ago and it was great! Worked fine and everything. But the description says the battery lasts up to 8 hours. HA! A month before the warranty would expire the charger stopped working so I had to request a replacement. I got it. It still works fine. BUT the charger they gave me originally looked very generic. Like it was ment to last a year. And the new one they sent me looked like it would last atleast a few years.

  • Summary: Wanted to buy a simple netbook for my daughter for web and video use. This unit is almost good enough. I was impressed with the fit, finish, design etc. But the chip set just isn't powerful enough to handle media rich sites. It performed just OK on netflix.com. But it just could not handle hulu.com. It bogged down to a frustratingly slow level. And I was a a fat high speed internet connection. It's just that the internal chip and networking speeds aren't powerful enough.

  • Summary: I am not impressed with this, it was a gift to replace one that was stolen. It is very small and Window Starter???? whats up with that??? This is only good to get on line and read email and browse. No DVD/s not alot of storage, etc. If you add under 100.00 and shop around you can get a fully functional PC that will meet all of your needs.

  • Summary: This netbook may be better with more ram, it came with 1GB. I figured I'd upgrade to 2GB but if I did I'd void the warranty. I've added ram to laptops before which required removing keyboard but this is much more detailed according to what I read onlint. There's only one slot also. 5 seconds after booting the heat starts, after 5 minutes it's hot enough to burn your lap and the screen dims. I may have gotten a Lemon.
