No Win 8

Alexander, Amazon
6 December 2013
  • Summary: Grossed out by Windows 8 on this one. This computer is simply not fast enough to support the OS. And for some odd reason wouldnt let me install win 7 from an official Mictosoft disk.

Great Product - Update "Returned"

Joshua Ankney, Amazon
13 July 2013
  • Summary: Like many of the other reviewers on Amazon, I bought this product because I wanted a cheaper alternative to my laptop that had recently crashed. After taking a look at the specs, which were comparable to my laptop from 2008. The only difference was this has less RAM, so I purchased this notebook and decided to give Windows 8 a try. W8 is a complete piece of junk.

Great hardware! Miserable software!

Timothy Lawless, Amazon
16 April 2013
  • Summary: This little Netbook is sleek and powerful. Only problem is that if you run the Windows 8 that comes with it you will never notice. Windows 8 Drains every resource available and everything movis along at a Sluggish pace. My wife had it one month and had already infected it with spyware. I was fed up and decided to learn how to disable the EUFI secure boot options in the bios so that it will allow me to install Ubuntu 12.10 x64 from a USB drive.

So-so. Better be sure of what you want to use it for.

3 April 2013
  • Summary: OK as a secondary computer but too slow for gaming or for using multiple apps at the same time. Hate the new Windows operating system so I had it scrubbed and installed Windows 7. Lightweight and compact so easy to use in bed or car and definitely less expensive than most tablets. Great for just doing e-mail and catching up on the news and things of that nature but I would recommend that anyone who is considering buying this be sure that it meets their speed and function...

Good laptop for basic use

helper1234, Dooyoo
25 December 2013
  • Excerpt: I have had this laptop for a couple of weeks. so far i have to say is that it is rather slow. The Processor is not able to handle most demanding tasks as well as the RAM. For example like playing games on a medium setting and video editing. But apart from that it is a good laptop for general use, such as browsing the web, watching videos, listening to music and creating documents. With the 320GB it is not enough to store a lot of data.

Amazon Customer "Richard T", Amazon
5 August 2013
  • Summary: A lovely netbook but Acer have made a major mistake using windows 8. Windows 8 does not automatically include Tethering so you cannot usb connect it to your Android phone like Windows 7. After much searching I found an answer on XDA developer's that works. Connect your Android device to your Windows 8 netbook.
