Acer Aspire One 725: Not overly Aspiring

Tommo1992, Dooyoo
20 June 2013
  • Summary: The Acer Aspire One 725 comes with Windows 8 pre-installed. If you need a light portable computer then this is the one for you! It's also cheaper than a tablet. You can also the netbook in a variety of colours which means that you can add your own individual stamp to your netbook. Weight and Battery The Aspire weighs just 1.2KG however the battery leaves a lot to be desired. It only seems to last just over 4 hours when browsing the web.
  • Pros: Size, Good Screen Resolution
  • Cons: Performance and Speed

I don't have this, and I probably won't buy it. The next version might be interesting

  • Summary: The display is apparently rubbish. I already have an Acer with a 1366 * 768 display, and the viewing angles are very disappointing. So this itteration is not being considered. I am however interested in a device with an 11 inch display, particularly if it is 1080p or above, providing the viewing angles are reasonable. I am not interested in a touchscreen display, especially considering the Windows 8 debacle, we can only hope Windows 9 will be better.

Cure for insomniacs

  • Summary: It arrived in January - excellent swift service - and switched on just fine but sadly with 2gb ram it was delivered with Windows 8 and not 7. So slow, slow, slow and I don't know if it is a "friday" model but the wifi range is poor as well. Not a good purchase. I am looking to replace windows 7 with XP, cheaper than uprating memory, and this toy will become a basic notebook for drafting copy to a "real" computer. I have more fun with a cheap android pad!

The Netbook is 4stars, Windows 8 one star. Avoid windows 8

  • Summary: I am not given on the whole to reviewing, but I will in this instance The product arrived on time, sleek slim and works well, streaming and video play good. However the battery life is shorter than expected so far 4 stars for the netbook. The low stars are because of Windows 8. This is dreadful, counterintuitive, frustrating. I like to open my computer and get on with whatever work i am doing. In registering you are forced into opening an Microsoft Account.
